Facial injuries are common in rafting. People get thrown into paddles, helmets, rocks, and rigging/gear. In five years of guiding I have seen busted lips, noses, eyebrows, and teeth. I saw a guys tooth go through his mouth when he hit his own paddle.
Did you break your nose on the back of someone's helmet or with your paddle T-grip?
