You really need to just put your money towards a correct alternator. If you try to re-wire it you WILL end up burning the car down. That ford alternator will most likely make to much charge back and over charge your battery causing it to boil the acid making Hydrogen, which will blow if there is the slightest spark! \

I seriously advise against this!

Woooah! Man!! Dont do it!! You can get a new ALT at autozone for $125 and it wont ruin you electrical system. If you know how to install it then fixing nissans is cheap. They dont make much money off of repairs because they rarely break down, so they will charge you about 4 times what it should cost.

Don't do it, Ford and Nissan ... completely different. Why do you want to pollute a wonderful Nissan with Ford parts.
Go buy a new one, or go to the car junk yard and buy one that is from a Nissan.

Most parts look the same and do the same job doesnt mean there interchangable. I suggest you go to Autozone.com or Advanceauto and check on the right part for your car there would be a great risk of fire or something worse if you use one from another car. altanators charge at differnt volts. if you like your car and dont wish to ruin it dont put that ford altanator into it.

It is not a straight forward job, the technical specifications between the 2 alternators may be differ and most importantly the pins used are differ too - causing short circuit and cause you your whole car.

For DIY, always get the back the same model/make. Any modification leave it to the trained servie personnel

Before you think of swapping ANY power source for ANY electronics you make sure it outputs the same volts, same amps, and same frequency (or close enough to not hurt anything...if you don't know how close that is, get it exact), or you don't swap it. PERIOD.

Don't do this unless you know for a FACT the output is compatible.

That would depend on what Ford alternator you're talking about.

if your talkin about car parts just because they "look the same" does not mean they are. Especially a nissian and a ford. talk to a machanic that will be sure of what they are talkin about or else you could have some serious problems.
