Hang things wherever you can. Pots and Pans can hang from towel bars that are mounted on the ceiling and get "s" hooks to hang them. Try to keep your limited counter space in the kitchen as empty as possible to keep it from feeling cluttered. Ad shelved in unusual places...in my daughter's room I mounted shelved ABOVE the closet and bedroom door so things could be displayed without taking up handy space. An option for closets is to hang more than one item on a hanger. Hang this season's clothing over the top of out-season clothing, then switch positions as needed. Also, if you can afford it AT ALL, the underbed dressers available at oak outlett stores are awesome. It helps all the underbed space get used. The drawers are on the sides of the bed, and accessible from the foot of the bed is storage for long things like fishing rods or golf clubs or even guns.
You can even stack these dressers on top of each other, have a taller bed and way more storage without ever using one extra inch of floor space.
Save money by wrapping shoe boxes in contact paper instead of buying baskets to store things on shelves.
my bathroom has a trash can that was once a plastic dog-food container.
Also, make discerning choices in what you keep and what you don't. It is easy to let your home get cluttered with all kinds of products that are SUPPOSED to keep you organized, believe it or not!
If a cute basket or box or container will fit wonderfully and fill a need you have, keep it (or buy it) but often another item is just that - Another Thing to dust and try to find it a place to belong.

you said you made shelves but maybe you need a curtain or wood doors in front of those shelves so you don't see the clutter. You can buy things like hampers, hammocks, toy chests, cedar chests, dressers, etc. to put your stuff in and yet they double as pieces of furniture. You can also buy one of those drawers that fit under your bed where you can store things like blankets, comforters, sheets and pillow cases. If you have a futon you can also store things under that. If the stuff gets too much for you you can always rent a storage unit or give away things (even at a consignment shop like out of date clothes or toys, or sell them on ebay) and buy new ones as you need them. You can also buy "foldable" things, like folding card table, folding dinner table, a bed that folds into the wall, and an ironing board that hooks onto a door. Never buy anything that doesn't have at least 3 or 4 uses.

I found my husband feels less cluttered with stuff ( he was complaining about every chair, shelf, table as being too much furniture, etc.) since I painted everything the same color, walls, floor, ceiling, furniture. Its amazing how much more spacious it looks to be all the same color. I used a coral color because the windows are facing north and the room is darkish.

Okay what you need to do is simple. Go to the warehouses and try to find cheap but cute cabinets or something that would go good in the room then stuff it til it is totally full then add some decors. and walla it is finished. Or bye one of those 100-250$ sheds from atwoods or walmart sometimes get one and put your things in there. @ my house if we have a pan that we never use then we put other small dishes in there so try one of these hope it works

The best way is to get rid off things that you need anymore or things that you don't love, clothe, accessories, furniture.
You can just sale them on craigslist or ebay. It's the best way to de-clutter your house. Surround yourself with only what you love

Buy space saving and multi use stuff. Use one sofa instead of 3 or 4 armchairs. Use fold up tables that you can hide in a closet. Get coffee tables that you can put stuff in. Get rid of anything you don't need.

FIRST I WOULD DECLUTTER. THEN GROUP SIMILAR ITEMS TOGETHER. THE THINGS YOU USE THE MOST PUT IN BASKETS ON SHELVES. USE UNDER THE BED FOR STORAGE. IF YOU KEEP THINGS ORGANIZED IT WILL LOOK NEAT NOT CLUTTERED.
