I didn't have a Dad who injured me or said bad words, but I was just invisible to him period. You can't control someone else, but you can control yourself. Be happy with who you are, no matter what Dad says or thinks. Sometimes, writing down how you feel is very therapeutic. You can even let him read it, and maybe it will open his eyes and heart up a little. Even if he doesn't respond at all...there will be a little seed planted in his brain. Either way you will feel better about being able to express yourself. It's really sad when some people can be so narrow minded that they hurt their children with nonsense and ignorance. I wish the best of luck...and remember you won't always be living under his roof.

I hate my dad so much..he did so many horrible things to me and my 5 year old sister. He did hard core drugs and drank. my mom couldn't do anything about it..I just wanted to tell you that you shouldn't drag yourself through the dirt about this. Look at it this way: your dad doesnt like you; but look at all the people you dont even know care about you a whole lot more then he ever did. =]
I hope i helped...=/ So sorry about your situation. Once more thing..I dont even feel my dad deserves to be called 'dad' I perfer BSD- Biological Sperm Donor..but my parents were married when they has me.

I grew up in a culture where hitting your child is the best way to discipline your child. My father was a disciplinarian and if we did something wrong he would beat us. We never saw it as something bad since we always felt that it was our fault. I had experienced being lashed by a belt , slapped and verbally abused as well as my sisters. We feared our father yet we still love him.

I was very fortunate to have a very loving and supportive dad and mom. However my children have not been that lucky. They have tried talking to there dad about it but he pays no attention to what they say. I am sorry you are going thru it. Just remember you are better than what he says you are... Good Luck

I haven't but that is soooo sad. Sounds like your dad has a mental problem, on drugs or is really stressed out.
Good luck. Pops
