You dont have dandruff. You have a dry scalp. Your hair is oily because you over do your hair. The drier the scalp, the oily'r the hair, to try and replace the dryness. so stop buying dandruff shampoo and start buying moisturizing. When you wash and rinse use cool water and not hot. That only make things worse. and when you condition only condition from the middle of your hair to the ends. Plus you may not be rinsing your hair long enough to get out all the shampoo and cond.

Well, actually dandruff is much more than flakes. It is actually sores, so if you don't have sores than you don't actually need dandruff shampoo. Just somethign that will exfoliate the scalp and help invigorate the scalp. My suggestion is going to your local salon and purchasing the Tea tree line by Paul Mitchell. The hair and scalp treatment does just that. Do not buy paul micthell anywhere but in a salon or it may not do what you need it to do. I think that if you are just expereincing itchyness and flakes it could be just dry or you could be having a reaction to somthing else you are using. Alcohol is the number 1 cause for dryness of the scalp. Check all of your hair products and if alcohol is one of the top three ingredients it may be as simple as removing that product from your daily regimine. I hope this helps you

no no no...head and shoulders has alot of variety when it comes to what suits youre hair...get head and shoulders intensive care..because i have oily hair..and i know a problem with some stuff is that it dries it out like crazy..but this head and shoulders is really good..it doesnt coat your dandruff...actually dandruff comes from oil scalps..so head and shoulders is made to treat that...

umm but yea it'll leave your hair health shiny and very clean feeling not oily at all.

umm and sometimes ppl just have to wash their hair everyday... i mean i have to..and i dont mind...id rather restyle my hair daily than have my hair going limp in the middle of the day...

and another thing i would suggest is that you not run you're fingers throught your hair..and try not to brush it too much either becuase that will only spread the oil from your scalp down to the rest of your hair.

i hope i helped

ps. use a clarifying shampoo once a week to get rid of hair product build up...which can even just come from hairspray or conditioner..

if nothing over-the-counter seems to work, see a dermatologist. You may have psoriasis or something. It has been so dry this winter I have dandruff and an itchy scalp and I got head and shoulders and problem gone. I'd try it. Its a heck of a lot cheaper than the doctor.

You are right. Those don't work, and I've never come across a Dandruff Shampoo that DOES work. My mom had this problem and nothing helped, so she washes her hair every OTHER day and her hair and scalp don't get so dry. It's not gross... she showers every day... she just doesn't wash her hair every day. Also if you don't wash your hair often (like at LEAST every other day) then of course, your hair is going to be nasty and itchy because it's dirty, and when you itch it, your scalp gets dry, and when your scalp gets dry, you get dandruff.....

Good luck. Hope I helped. =]

Hair should be washed often using a shampoo to prevent build up of flakes causing dandruff. Also different anti dandruff shampoos can be alternated, if the fungus becomes immune to a particular dandruff treatment.Other home remedies at the link provided will prevent further problems.

You probably need a medicated shampoo prescribed by a doctor. He might prescribe a saline shampoo or a coal tar shampoo to relieve the iitch. In the meantime, make sure your hair products do not have alcohol in them in any form. This just dries the scalp out even more, so read the ingredients carefully.

do not use head and shoulders, that do only make it worst. I found selson blue to be good after a few times using it but you said that never worked for you. So, try going to a doctor they will give you a medicated shampoo. Also, i know it is hard but try not scratch a lot if your head is itchy because that will only make it more noticable and it still wont stop itching.
