I'm related to John Chapman (aka Johnny Appleseed) through my father's side and Adolf Hitler on my mother's side.

Okay okay this isn't a religious thing here! I am agnostic and don't believe in anything, so the spiritual side of this doesn't interest me. I was just wondering, simple curiosity. And I agree, life is what you make of it. However, if you're like me and family is a big thing, it's nice to know where you come from.

The celebrity of my ancestor depends on who you talk to (it would have to be American historians)...and I'm not going to post my family tree up, but a few years ago my dad did a lot of research into my family. He discovered that I'm a great (x14, I think) granddaughter of William Brewster, one of the pilgrims who travelled to America on the Mayflower.
I know, big whoop. I thought it was pretty cool. Especially when in the next few years I saw Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving special, and I believe Linus mentions that it was William Brewster who led the prayer before that first Thanksgiving dinner. Whether or not that's historically accurate is up for debate, of course, but I think it's cool.

Though I'd never say this out loud to anyone because I don't want to deal with the conversation that would follow, I'm distantly related to Johnny Depp on his mother/my dad's side. I've never met him, and honestly don't care if I ever do. My great-aunt keeps in touch with his mother though.

I'm distant cousins to Jamie Lee Curtis. Her family tree is on a website and I found that we have a common ancestor - David Titchenal.

I'm one fourth Cherokee. My cousin is half because her great grandpa traded his mules for her great granny, who was full-blood. I'd say we are all related to the celebriites if you belive in Adam and Eve's story, of which I do.
