marines jobs?

Question

no matter what the job you have in the marine corp if your an enlisted member you wont be able to find employment in the civialian world. my recruiters are telling me that if i pick the right job such as jet or helicopter or something machanic ill be able to find a job in the real world however if i pick something such as infantry i wont be able to find a job. this makes sense to me i mean the military will train its personal with skills that will greatly benefit them if they pick the right job. it will give them first hand expericence. my uncle who is in the army is telling me that if i enlist in the army or marines i will not be able to find a job in the civialian world no matter what my job was. hes never been in the marines and that doesnt make as much sense. im just curious if someone will be able to answer this question better for me.

im talking enlisted not officer and my asvab score is high enough to get very impressive jobs in the military

Marines and any other soldier has a job opportunity in the civilian life especially in the law enforcement agencies and security related jobs.

heres a few idea's some of them apply to the marines and some are only offered by the Navy, remember the marines is only a branch of the Navy. Honestly the Navy is now making where you must get a college education to make it past to E-7 and above and for certain fields they are making it easy to earn things like journey man lincenses.

first are you really interest in becoming a mechanic. if so then sure join the helicopter crew. you will make good money when you get out as either a mechanic or even a airport runway firefighter can make over 50k a year. but hanging around a helicoptor is a harsh hot enviroment sometimes.

maybe become a interpreter, they will send you to a school to learn a forign language. if its arabic or chinese. you can make over $70,000 a year as a civilian for the fed's.

you can go into cryptology and learn to work on computer networks. becoming qualified in things like network administration. even learn to hack etc. ssshh the goverment denies they do that. any military IT job is worth it.

you can become a legalmen or yeomen and primarly do goverment paper work. which will do great in the civilian world.

or you can join the sea bee's and become a master electrician or mason.

you can become a HM, and do medical, or you can become a dental assistant in the navy, you can even become postal clerk.

That's not really true,a lot of people who have been in the military are able to find civilian jobs, sometimes even in the same or related field. I know a few people who were in the infantry and they are now in law enforcement, my husband was an aircraft mechanic in the Navy and got a good job doing the same thing as a civilian. With your scores I'm sure you can pick a job that you can carry over to the civilian world. A good one would be air traffic controller.

Even if you only train as an infantryman, the leadership skills and life lessons that the corp, or any branch of the military, will make you very attractive to potential employers. I know that if I owned a business I'd rather have an ex marine working for me then a Harvard grad.

I served in the Marine Corps Infantry, oorah. After seperating, I attended school at a low cost, state school, and graduated with my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. I am currently employed as a financial statement auditor with KPMG, one of the Big Four public accounting firms. The Big Four firms are the largest, and most prestigious accounting firms in the United States and in the world. I interviewed with three firms, and I received offers from each of the three firms that I interviewed with. I was placed in a job two months before I was finished with school. Just because you make a decision in life does not necesarily mean that something good or something bad is going to happen. My brother would say that advancing in life is all about timing and contacts, and I do agree with that. So my advice to you is to develop a network of contacts in whichever field you are interested in eventually working at. I also believe that a positive mental attitude at all times can keep you on track to meet your goals and succeed in life. I set goals above what I think I can achieve and I keep that positive mental attitude and it has helped me out even during dark times.
