I have very very very curly hair and fere's what I do...Get trimmed regularly like every 6 weeks (will minimize the tangles). Do not shampoo every day...this dries your hair out more.
Comb your hair instead of using a brush...I use a wide pick or comb and then apply gel or mousse (whatever you use). I use Sebastian's potion 9. It is a leave in hair treatment that acts as a gel as well. It can make your hair stiff if you use too much but I love it...it doesn't take a lot and it smells really good too!
Use a good conditioner daily. And a conditioning treatment like once a week. I don't blow dry my hair unless I am straightening it. I hope this helps!

There are lots of really good professional products out. You can try out several and see what you like the best and then possibly rotate your top 2 or 3 picks about every 3 months. I would recommend taking a look at Biolage', Aveda to start. Both of these have excellent product for curly, dry, hair. As a general rule with Curly hair...less is better for the condition of the hair as far as any type of chemical processes. If your hair tends to be dry, putting it through any chemical processes like coloring, will only dry it even more. Also, I would recommend a taking a liquid vitamin/mineral supplement for the health of not only your hair, but your body as well, if you are not already doing so. I hope this helps!

There's this really great shampoo called Sunsilk, be sure you get the green bottle for the anti-frizz,it also moisturizes. Also get the 24/7 cream and use it while your hair is damp. When blow drying use a diffuser.
