how in the world do you give thumbs up to answers in here?

You must be at level 2 or higher in order to use the thumbs rating. Click on "help" (top right of this window) for a full explanation of how "Answers" works.

Normally you'd just click on the thumbs-up at the bottom of the person's post. However, there are some problems right now, and the glitch is keeping people from doing that. They'll get it fixed eventually.

You can't give thumbs-up to questions anymore, because they have that new star thing. (Personally, I preferred thumbs.)
In the answers, you just click on thumbs-up (or down) that's to the right of the question. (You need to be at level two to do that, though.)

Answers gets you points and get you the right to thumb up or down.

Once you get to level 2 you'll be able to give thumbs.

Keep answering questions, you need points and ranking to be able to rate answers, click on your points and level for more information. :)

When you reach a level you can vote on answers and such. I am not sure which one it is or how many points...
