Cropping a dog's ears should NEVER be done by anyone other than a licensed professional trained to do so. As a matter of fact, it is illegal to do on your own and is considered animal cruelty. If you watch Animal Cops you'll see this time and time again and see the owners being arrested.

I think this is a tecnique that can only be taught at a vet school. I worked for a vet and we did ear cropping, and unless you have the ability to sedate your dog, he'll never let you crop his ears. I've assisted with dozens of ear cropping surgeries, and your dog must be sedated. And then the ear is sliced off, the edges stitched back together, and the ear is then molded around a cotton stick to make it stand up while it's healing. The ears do need to be cropped before the dog is 15 weeks old, or the ear cartilidge is too hard and it won't work very well.

Only a vet should perform this type of procedure. If you can't afford the operation and have it done by a vet while your dog is anethsisized, then don't have it done at all. The dog could bleed to death or get a serious infection. Chances are, you dont know how to do sutures, so the dog could bleed to death. Plus, the poor guy would be in so much pain. so, in short, there are no sites that show how to do this, so don't do it.

If you are in the UK, it is ILLEGAL to crop any dog's ears. In the USA, only a licensed vet can legally do it. It is painful and unnecessary elective surgery - most dogs look fine with their ears natural! Doing it yourself is a crime and cruel beyond belief, since you can't get the anesthetics needed for surgery. Also, ears bleed more than almost any other part of the body - your pup can die from blood loss and infection.
Cropping also leads to nasty fly bites if the dog is left outside much. The weeks of taping needed to get them to stand up can be a nightmare, leading to painful sores and a dog that sees you as a source of pain.

Whatever you find on any web site, I'm hoping you'll realize that this is not a procedure that anyone other than a qualified veterinarian should do. Personally, I think that cropping an animals ears is just cruel.

DON'T EVER DO A SURGERY LIKE TIHS ON YOUR OWN.
I'm sorry, but you don't have the right things to numb the area and you could make it have an awful infection.
This is not a necessary surgey for any breed, so if you don't have the money, don't worry about it. It's simply a cosmetic thing and a very dumb one at that.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but really, this is an absolutely AWFUL idea and you could probably be charged with animal cruelty charges.

It is a very difficult procedure for a vet. It can be dangerous. Don't even think about doing it yourself.
