I got a new desktop for Christmas this year, and the box had a large sticker on it, stating that the computer was eligible for a free upgrade to Windows Vista. Was there a paper in the box containing this info? If there was, I can probably find it, but is there any way I can get the upgrade without going through the process of cleaning my room to find the paper?

Yep.
Choose the manufacturer of your PC on this Microsoft link & proceed from there.

"When you buy a qualifying Windows Vista Capable PC between October 26, 2006 and March 15, 2007, you may be eligible for an Express Upgrade to Windows Vista."

If you bought a Toshiba, try, www.vistaupgrade.toshiba.com
I cant help you with other brands, on a website, BUT
here's a customer service line for the free Vista upgrades that should help you.

Toll-Free= (800)-817-5602
They should be able to direct you along the way from there.
Be aware though, Id assume you'll have to dig up some other information regarding your computer such as Proof Of Purchase, a valid Certificate of Authenticity, Model number of ur computer, serial number on the computer, shipping address and email address, and probably the retailer where you purchased the computer.

I hope that all helps prepare you for whats ahead, remember its tough getting things for free, and you'll probably have to work for it.
