Cats, I appreciate their independance, and the fact you have to work for their affections.

They're both wonderful, and both different.
Cats are independent; they join you like a friend--you can influence them, call, them, accept or offer affection--but the cat has his own life. He's congenial, not a pack animal.
Dogs are pack animals. They have many instincts, all of them annoying and most of these being emotions they'll forget about if you can divert their attention. They can be trained to be friendly, sympathetic and valuable companions, but it takes work.
So, think of the cat as a football game--you can cheer for it or shake your head at it--but you can't influence it.
And dogs are a baseball game--the more you know about them, the more you can appreciate, enjoy and put up with their negatives at the same time.

Dogs dogs Dogs dogs Dogs!!!!! ;-) Dogs only. Cats and I don't get along all that great. I would never hurt one of coarse but I rather despise them because they only come to you when they want something and really don't give you that much of an emotional connection. I like being so close to a totally different life. And having this totally different life trust my implicitly and never question whether I love it or not. I'm totally in love with dogs, they are my life.

Of course dogs!!! My dog is laying here with me right now and she is the best thing that could have happened to my family. She relieves so much of the stress and anxiety in the house. Even though my mom and I are allergic to them we still love our Sugar. My sister and I bought her one day when we were out and my parents got really upset but learned to love her. My dad had a cat when he was younger and his brother ran it over they are so slow. I LOVE DOGS!!!

Cats are lower maintenence than dogs cuz they prefer you just leave them alone, till they want something & you can leave them inside for hours as long as they have food, water & litter. Dogs prefer more attention & if they're indoor dogs, ya can't leave them alone for long periods of time. But dogs are better at guarding your property than cats...especially if the intruder who's breaking into your house is a..."cat burglar"!

Well, I love my cat...but I love my dog too! it's true cats are more independent...I can leave my cat at home and have a friend come over to care for him when I go out of state and when I get back he is happy to see me but well rested too! HA HA! My dog is a Husky who loves to travel so she gets to go with us when we go...besides she goes everywhere with us...even to work, but not everyone does security for a golf course. HA HA! I just love all critters, what can I say?

Love them both...dogs are loyal and protective and playful. Cats are a bit more independent but cute and cuddly too.

dogs, definitely. dogs are loyal, trusting, and great protectors of the family they are apart of. that extra sense of protection is a great feeling, trust me. cats have to much attitude, i have enough friends with attitude and i don't need a pet with it also. so my vote goes to dogs, definitely dogs.

DOGS! You can do way more things with them and Cats roam around more than dogs.
