I like this girl named Alisa...but we have been best friends since we were three. Should I cough up the guts and tell her...Another thing I am worried about is my parents. My mom is the kind of person who gets all teary eyed on the small things, like when I first developed pubic hair. Plus I have never ever had a kiss that was actually meaningful since I was three. I am twelve tell me what you think. Should I wait until I am 16 and just drive myself on dates or should I not be nervous about what my parents think.

it's not that my mom doesn't want me to date it is just embarrassing doing anything around her. I am a private schooler so I have been protected and never done anything wild in my life

There is no need to have a girlfriend until after you are financially set in life. I'm not saying you should not "date," but don't screw yourself over with a girlfriend- enjoy those years.

I'd go for it because chances are there's a jerk out there at your school who will snatch up your girl if he finds you like her. If you find someone attractive, don't be scared of what others think about it. However, if it's because your parents don't want you to date, they probably have good reason so just respect their decision. Besides, if you've been friends that long, they'll know her and the family, so feel more comfortable about the whole dating situation. Oh, and I know what you mean about emotional moms. Mine was hsyterical when I got my first boyfriend. <3

you don't have to wait till ur 16 although i do believe ur a bit too young for any relationship on the whole. just tell her how you feel if you are ready to handle the relationship and you can't always make decisions coz ur worried about ur parents would feel. ur growing up. and really think anout if ur ready for a relationship with Alisa before u do anything u'll regret.

don't worry about it. my mom forbade dating for me.. but i got a girlfriend and now she's fine with it. just reason with your mom, and try to make her understand your point of view.
