Ok kids, here are my options, the Canon SD600 or the Olympus 710. Please dont tell me about any others, and please dont paste stuff from the websites. Im a high school students, so my pics will mostly be facebook pictures of myself and of my friends goofing around. I dont need a gorgeous picture of a flower. The eighty dollar difference is kinda big. What else can u tell me? Thank you.

Go with the Canon DS600. They have been in the camera business many more years than Olympus will ever be. The SD 600 is an excellent camera.

Not familiar with the Olympus, but the card will cost you more money (almost twice) than the Canon.

The SD600 is a very good camera with a good track record. It comes from a line that goes back to the SD150 in 2003

The Canon is 6 MP while the Olympus is 7. You'll get bigger enlargements with the Olympus, more cropping, but less pictures on the card, about 20% less.

Price wise the are the same! At least from what I saw. Both are $250.

Like I said memory is going to cost you. About $40 for the Olympus on a 1 GB card (260 pictures) vs. $20 for the Canon (320 pictures).

You should go in and try them They probably have a different feel for holding and zooming. That's a factor you have to live with.

The Olympus seems a snazzier shape than the Canon.

I have a lot of experience with the Canon so I'm more familair with that one.
