Look for someone else to help. The best way to deal with anxiety (I hope you're referring to relatively neurotic anxiety), is to think about someone else. (Think about the very real anxiety of people in Iraq right now, who are witnessing nearly a car bombing a day, and see human beings either shot up or blown to bits, on nearly a daily basis. Now, THAT, my friend, is ACTUAL anxiety).

Anxiety can stem from an inordinate concern with oneself, and frankly, usually people are involved with their own problems, and are really not paying as much attention to you as you might think.

If you are in a cycle of negative thinking patterns, that suggests to me that you are feeling somewhat alienated from the human race as a whole.

Much depends on your age, and your immediate environment (ie, your family, your home life, your neighborhood, your city). You come across as a fairly young person. If you live in a rough city, and are seeing friends or other young people in the area getting killed due to drugs, crime, etc. that is some reason to feel pessimistic.

I recommend that you get active in some kind of political, activism or community work, where you can use your talents and insights, to benefit someone else. Then, you will see how much of a difference you can make.

We, as human beings, are in the Image of the Living God, and God did not bestow His graces, in vain.

Think about what you might be able to do, to create a better future. You can relax, when you know that your life has a purpose, and that you are doing something of importance, for humanity.

Anxiety is a common problem. Don't be afraid to see a doctor. Sometimes a little therapy (group or one on one) goes a long way. And if that doesn't work you may want to talk to your Doc about medication. Anxiety is not always just an emotional state. It can be an actual physical imbalance in the brain chemicals.
But do something. You can't live a decent life being anxious all the time. Good luck.

I have the same problem a lot of the time, especially around the time that I am PMSing. (I'm not sure if you are a guy or girl, so this may not pertain to you.) It helps me to run or do some sort of exercise to get rid of the tension, and it's really really good for your health. Listen to music or find something that you really love to do and do it. Keep yourself busy, and surround yourself by people who are happy and who make you happy. Also, try and stay away from caffiene and other stimulants. There are ways to decrease anxiety with your food intake.

If this still doesn't help, and things are still hard, go see a doctor, you could have generalized anxiety disorder.

1. Walking and Physical Activity (dancing, gardening, cycling, swimming, etc.). Regular exercise and physical activity strengthens your immune system, cardiovascular system, heart, muscles and bones. It also stimulates the release of endorphins, improves mental functioning, concentration/attention and cognitive performance, and lowers cholesterol, blood pressure, cortisol and other stress hormones. Three 10-minute workout sessions during the day are just as effective as one 30-minute workout, and a lot easier to fit into a busy schedule.
2. Yoga and Stretching. The slow movements and controlled postures of yoga improves muscle strength, flexibility, range of motion, balance, breathing, blood circulation and promotes mental focus, clarity and calmness. Stretching also reduces mental and physical stress, tension and anxiety, promotes good sleep, lowers blood pressure and slows down your heart rate.
3. Laughter and Humor. There is truth to the saying that laughter is the best medicine. Laughing reduces stress hormones like adrenaline (epinephrine) and cortisol. It also benefits your immune system by increasing the number and activity of Natural Killer T-cells. These cells act as the first line of defense against viral attacks and damaged cells. Find the humor in things and engage in activities that make you laugh to increase your immune function and disease resistance.
5. Music. Listening to your favorite music is a great method of reducing stress and relieving anxiety. Your individual preference in music determines which types of soothing sounds will best reduce your tension, blood pressure, and promote feelings of tranquility. Pay attention to how you feel when you hear a particular song or genre of music, and keep listening to the ones that produce a relaxing effect.
6. Sleep. Getting enough sound sleep has a profound impact on your stress levels, immune function and disease resistance A chronic lack of sleep can leave you feeling sluggish, irritable, forgetful, accident-prone, and have difficulty concentrating or coping with life's daily aggravations. Long-term sleep loss can also result in heart disease, stroke, hypertension, depression, and anxiety. Sleep time is when your body and immune system do most of its repairs and rejuvenation. Strive to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Remember rest and relaxation go hand in hand

but about that anxiety you should really see a doctor.
Optimism can counteract the negative impact stress, tension and anxiety has on your immune system and well-being. Often it is how you perceive things that determine if you get overwhelmed, both mentally and physically. Having a positive attitude, finding the good in what life throws your way and looking at the bright side of things enhances your ability to effectively manage stress.

i do no longer propose medicine because of the fact it won't sparkling up your subject, only suppress it so it may come out in yet another variety, possibly in a technique occurring interior of your physique which you will no longer observe till that's only too overdue. As for rigidity assaults, I had an acquaintance who became into in an identical project. i did no longer help her because of the fact she refused help, yet I truthfully have some unusual the type to handle this. curiously there are not any super issues on your existence, yet i'm only assuming from the "be bothered by assaults of rigidity for no obvious reason" quote. it may be effective so which you would be able to seek for an possibility the place you are able to concentration on human beings in third international international places, possibly volunteering to distribute malaria alleviation or nutrition, even. once you're coping with a actual disaster, on occasion those issues take the backdrop and bypass away you by myself. on the different hand, stress can mount bigger and you will finally end up worse off, yet I doubt this.

I was diagnosed with anxiety in 6th grade, and i was put on medicine but it just made everything worse. I felt bad about myself because I had to take pills, just to be happy! I felt like nothing, which pushed me into depression as well. I couldnt find a way out of it! so I decided to talk to my doctor and get off my medicines and try a different route. I went to my neighbor, who is a liscenced herbologist and studys herbal medicines, and she put me on Min-Chex, and Rescue Remedy(for my anxiety attacks) and vitamin supplements. I have also started to rely more on myself to make me happy instead of turning to other people, if its just a little thing. Another thing to do is change your diet, and cut out sugars and easy carbs, and go walking more, or running, depending on your stage of physical fitness. As you get healthier, you will feel better.
Talk to your doctor and find some way to get better, instead of treated.

if u don't want to get a prescription from your dr. for pills, or you don't live in california where medical marijuana is legal, you might consider trying magnolia bark. it's a great herb for relieving anxiety. (don't drive while you're on it though).

other ideas:
- take a long walk outside while listening to some mellow music.
- spend some time playing with a dog or a little kid.
- find something you like to do (like cooking or making art) and do it while listening to music and dancing.
- make cookies and share them with friends.
- learn to tell good jokes.

Look at www.onelists.com which is where yahoo's mailing lists are. Look for mailing lists about anxiety. If you suffer from obsessive thoughts, try looking for ocd mailing lists. Post your concerns to the lists. I am telling you I have found so much help with these types of lists.

I hate to say it but when I get that way I have a drink or two. Or I workout, read a book, or write my thoughts on paper. All are good relaxing techniques for me.
