I have 3 yoga video's and they all say this too. I have read it's because blood flow is meant to come out of the body, not be drained back into the body.

I've been doing yoga for years, and I've never heard this. As far as I know, any yoga position (or any exercise of any type) is fine for a woman to do while menstruating.

I have heard of women not being able to do too much while menstration if using a tampon because the string might break and the tampon would have to be removed by a doctor. :( scary. BUT since they have all sorts of tampons, even SPORT tampons, I don't think this is a problem anymore.

Where did you hear such a thing? Not true at all. There are no exercise limits for a menstruating woman. Not at all. If for some reason if makes you feel uncomfortable, then don't do it.
