Cutting long hair short?

I've pretty much always had short hair..but grew it out about 6 years ago. It's very long and I like it...but sometimes it's a pain, and I'm thinking of cutting it off again. Has anyone chopped off their long hair and hated it? Or loved it?

I grew my hair out for the first time and then I was diagnosed with cancer (at age 24) and I sat on my bathroom floor crying and cutting it off once it started to fall out in handfulls. It was probably one of the most tramatic things I've ever had to do. (Now I don't mind it being short or even bald)

If you want to cut it short, consider taking it all off at once and donating it to "Lockes of Love". (Must be a mininum of 10 inches in length, I think) They use human hair to make wigs for kids with cancer. Some salons will cut it for free, if you are donating it to Lockes of love. My sister got hers done free at Great Clips when she donated hers.

I read somewhere that for long-haired people who want to get their hair cut short, they should cut it gradually. Start with cutting 2 or 3 inches off per visit so you'll have time to get used to the new style. And if you end up hating your new hairdo, there won't be as much damage as there would've been if you'd have cut it all off. <3

I prefer hair that is shoulder length or longer, And also since that men who like women are more often then not right, they like long hair because that looks more feminine, as most males have short hair.

I like shorter hair for the summer because all you have to to is toss some gel in it and go, no blow dryers or anything, if you get it all chopped off donate it to LOCKS OF LOVE.

change is very good whether its for the good or the bad but a change like a haircut is not that dramatic maybe you should try cutting it half way between what it already is and how short you want it.

lengthy hair is nice but requires maintenance and u have to grow that out for a long time

IF YOU DO CUT IT, THINK ABOUT DONATING YOUR HAIR TO LOCKS OF LOVE.ORG TO HELP MAKE WIGS FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER, I HAD A GUY FRIEND WHO GREW HIS HAIR OUT JUST FOR THE THAT REASON.
