I've heard that you should be suspicious of new spots on the skin. I don't go tanning. I'm out in the sun but not excessively. I'm only 27. Should i be concerned?

If you're concerned about cancer the things most doctors tell you to look for is new spots, that do not match other moles on your body (shape, color) undefined boarders, or non symetrical. If these just appeared and they are dark, it sounds to me like you likely have some form of blood blister under the skin. If it doesn't clear up in a week or two you might want to get it checked out, but you probably wouldn't worry about this either, there are a lot of reasons why your skin might develop such a mark and given how quickly you are describing this development it is not terribly likely to be one of them. Still if they do not clear up it is always better to be safe then sorry.

To be on the safe side, you should probably see a dermatologist to have them checked out. Better to have them seen now than later if they are a problem! Besides, I'm only 28 and I had a mole map done of my skin when I was 25. I have red hair and burn extremely easy. Plus both my parents have had bouts with skin cancer. The dark spots could be perfectly normal, caused by hormones or what have you, but you just never know. Good luck and hope I helped and didn't scare you!
