Obviously posting this in immigration... I have a feeling what you all ready believe...
Pure and simple, immigration has made the US great. At one time or another, unless you are Native American (i'm part native american)... we were all immigrants. Einstein was German. The French helped us fight the British during the Revolutionary war. A majority of our culture is from Europe / Asia / Africa. To change that policy and limit immigration WOULD BE the most damaging thing to the USA. Many natural born americans are becoming lazy in their environment and highly motivated citizens of other countries are coming over here to become citizens and pick the slack of some Americans. The american work force used to be all about working hard. That idea has been lost in the last 20 years and people think everything should be handed on a silver plater.
The most damaging thing to the USA in the next five years is the our dependence on oil. Aside from the whole Iraq issue... (I don't think the main reason behind Iraq was oil)
We need to get rid of this necessity. If Bush was so firm on protecting our country... he would spend more time/effort/money on finding a solution to this problem than proposing a 10 trillion dollar budget to put a man on Mars by 2026.

In the next five years the single thing with the biggest prospect of being the most damaging to the United States would be the continuing destabilisation of International Relations and America's place within the international political schema. Continuing destabilisation in Europe and the Middle East, and America's reaction to it has the potential to draw the United States into another cold war, more unilateral military actions against sovereign states, or even an all out world war/nuclear war.

Over? that is sort of inflamatory, yet i'm getting your element. i think of while Bush took workplace, all of us started on a acquire slope that we would by no ability recover from. We would very nicely nevertheless be the main effective, richest, maximum charitable united states of america in the international, yet i'm unsure we will ever regain the lead we as quickly as had. while Clinton became into in workplace, the U.S. became into dominant in various aspects. We have been the only actual super ability. Now Russia and China have found out that the U.S. is only a undesirable president remote from growing to be to be a bully. We have been the shining beacon of democracy. After the Bush/Gore election and the partisan politics of this nightmare administration, the U.S. political device has develop right into a punchline international extensive. Financially, i do no longer think of i could bypass into how a techniques we've fallen. u.s. is in all probability nevertheless the appropriate united states of america in the international. yet we are actually not so a techniques forward anymore. and we ought to truthfully lose our lead altogether at some point. we prefer greater patriotism. yet no longer the kind of patriotism that we've had up 'til now. Patriotism isn't only waving the flag and criticising all people who factors out flaws in the device. Patriotism is loving your united states of america, acknowledging the flaws, and rolling up your shirt sleeves and fixing them.

I think if we still have five years left on this Earth , before the second coming, the next five years could bring on times, that never were so treacherous , ever before like global world government, they are talking about building a super highway , from Mexico to Canada, right through the U.S.A. and the three Countries become some kind of North American Union what a socialist ride to hell, that would be. imagine how Mexico would drag down, our already struggling economy, if all these socialist in this country, think American's are a lazy , listless bunch of idiots, why do all these other countries, want what we have we let the government take to much from us already, lets not let these illegals take the rest, our founding fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor, for a dream that became this country, the least we can do is pledge to keep it I don't have anything against Mexicans, but I do against a world dictator, and I don't care who runs the show. all I know is the Constitutions, said that the people should, and we were warned by them same elderly statesmen, to keep a watchful eye on government, I would say we missed the mark on that one, by the down hill slide of morality, we've not been busy with the things of God like we should of been . theirs a very good possibility that their could be a suit case, nuke going off in one of our major cities within the next five years also, God help us, because no one else will.

COMPLACENCY, IMPATIENCE [People hate to WAIT for ANYTHING (5 MINUTES WAITING IN LINE AT MCD'S!!! THAT IS DISGUSTING!!!!)(IT'S BEEN A YEAR, WHY HAVEN'T OUR MILITARY ENDED THE WAR IN IRAQ/FOUND OSAMA??!! (heard about a year after we hit the ground in Iraq). I saw a guy get mad because someone got into the revolving door in Norfolk's (Va) Federal Building ahead of him!], and APATHY by too many Americans. Big deal about that HAS BEEN PLAYBOY BUNNY NICOLE what's her name....but no one gets excited about our men and women coming home in caskets! When the REDHORSE squadron returned yesterday in Richmond, anyone hear about it outside of Virginia? A nice 'article' in the paper down here in Tidewater. And that will be all we'll see.

a Democrat in the Whit House would be the most damaging thing that could happen to this country. If it happens, we're looking at an immediate exit from Iraq, which would be so costly to this country that it's hard to imagine.

After we pull out of Iraq we'll have terrorists busy at work here. Watch how long it takes to close the border then.

Barring any attacks from North Korea or Iran, or any natural catastrophes, nothing majorly bad will happen to the US in the next five years. Now over the next 20-50 years, we may start to see the effect of climate change, which now appear to be inevitable.

If the Dems win in 2008, we will be attacked again and most likely run from any confrontation by another country.
