We often surmise about the Meaning of Life (for human beings), and most xtians or religious folks will answer something along the lines of for the Glory of God, to live out the Gospel, to do God's Will, the earn a spot in Heaven and avoid Hell, etc etc.

So what do you think the Meaning of Life is for God? God miraculously popped into existence to create human beings to do his will? Sounds pretty vain and narcissistic to think that the meaning in his existence relies squarely on sitting around answering our prayers, but not interfering in worldly life, only bothering to insert his power at 2 times: during creation and during the rape of a virgin. There must be more to God's mysterious ways? What do you think God's purpose in the Universe is (independent of human worship)? Why was God created?

Well, first off, the notion of creation is something that we have defined for ourselves based on observations of this universe. Things outside the universe don't necessarily have to have a creator or prime mover.

Anyhow, all we know of God's purpose/meaning is that He desires to have a relationship with us, not just that we should worship Him. It goes two ways. Of course, this relationship with us takes on many forms, and He continues to work in our everyday lives in less observable ways than the few miraculous events of the Bible. He still works in a grandoise fashion every once in a while, providing healing for those who have faith or causing circumstances to arise that avert disaster (I do have two specific instances in mind, though they wouldn't mean anything to you over the internet, since you can make up whatever you want on here).

Surely there are other things that God does, but we don't know what they are, and we don't need to know what they are, because they don't partain to us (yet).

without the buffer of an outside entity to respect the human race would disappear. we are too self centered to survive if we only deal with each other.

The meaning of God's life? To comfort those who are afraid of "meaningless-ness" and an "empty death".
