So i have a whole lotta sprinkles in my pantry and i was wondering if they'd stay fresh indefinitely or if there was an expiration date on them.

thanks!

There probably is an expiry date on them, but that time period would really be for all the additives and chemicals added, because there is no expiry date on sugar, which is the main ingredient. I am a big fan of saving food as long as possible, so if it were me, I would just make sure to keep them cool and dry, and I'll bet you'll get years out of those babies. Don't always take too much heed of those expiry dates, the companies who make the products want you to think you have to buy more just because the date has gone over...

Like any food products they all ahve a best before or use by date. As a chef we have a saying and that is if in doubt chuck it out, in other words if you are not sure throw it out and buy some fresh items.

Unless they've been there for 15 years I wouldnt worry about it other than tasting old. It's all sugar.

Sprinkles are just colored sugar. If they're color hasn't faded they're still good.
