Has anyone been on a Disney Cruise? How was it? What were the good and bad things about it? What room did you stay in? I am 14 and there are no younger children going (if we go) Any thing you would like to say about the Disney Cruise Line would be appreciated. Thanks!

We have been on several cruises, and the Disney Cruise was definitely the best!!! We have 3 young children, but we saw dozens of families with teenagers. We had a category 4 room (deck 8). It was really nice, and had a balcony. I do not know specifically what activities they have for teens, but if you go on www.disneycruise.com it will give you a complete list. The food was awesome, and I think you would definitely have fun if you do as many activities as you can. Someone commented earlier about the ship being dirty- that is absolutely impossible. Disney goes above and beyond in making your cruise a great trip. Not once did we ever see any sort of garbage or anything dirty. But like I said, go on their website. Have a great trip!

Personally, I really like the Disney cruise. I've been on both the Magic and the Wonder many, many time and I think they are a knotch above some of the other cruise lines. I did go on the Magic once right before they went into drydock and it was needing to be cleaned up a little, but they same is true for other ships. They get a lot of wear and tear over a short period of time, but everything else is always spotless. Food is also pretty good and service is fantastic.

Room wise, I've stayed in several different suites onboard. My only suggestion is to try and get one of the higher decks. The bottom decks aren't exactly what you expect on a luxury cruise line. If you can get a higher deck, that is what I would do.

My sister went several times when she was a teenager and she always loved it. Disney has kids programs and they seperate you into age groups. That way, there is no one in the group that is too young or too old that you won't get a long very well. The teens program is pretty cool and you get a lot more freedom than the younger kids get. They have a lounge type area where they have T.Vs and video games. You can come and go as you please, you don't need parents permission, like the younger groups. They have activities planned every day, all day. They do games, scavenger hunts, make things, American Idol type activities, etc. It really is a lot of fun. Plus, you have your own beach on Castaway Cay and they also offer special shore excursions and activities for teens.

Show wise, I've always enjoyed Disney a lot more than most of the other lines. I just think the shows are really great.

For the rest of the time on the cruise, you are going to see a lot of Disney themed things around the ship. Characters for sale in the store, characters in the dining rooms, etc. Kind of what you would expect on a Disney ship. They also have a lot of meet and greet situations where the characters come out you can take pictures, get autographs, etc. If you don't like that type thing, you can avoid it, they don't run after you or anything like that. But, it will be busy when characters are around, everyone kind of swarms to that area.

I think the Disney Cruise is great. Like I said, my sister went when she was a teenager and loved it. She did like Disney, but I think she would have liked it anyway. She would have gone on Disney over most any other cruise line just because of the teen programs, I wish I could go in the kids clubs, they look like fun!

I love the Disney Cruise, I think they are great. Given the option of several different cruise lines, I think Disney would rate at the top of my list. They are one of the top rated cruise lines, so I don't think you will be dissapointed.

You can look at the links below to look into the activities onboard for the Loft or Stack, depending on your ship. Also, I've included a link to reviews on both ships.

Hope this helps!

We introduced our daughters to cruising on the Disney Wonder at ages 5 and 7. They loved it at that age. But at 14, it may be Disney overload for you.

The characters are constantly hugging you and wanting you to take pictures with them.

Everything is cutie-pie decorated, even the dining rooms.

The menus are either super kiddie (chicken nuggets or mini corn dogs) or adult like sea bass.

They do a have a teen "club" were teens are encouraged to go but the game room is usually overcrowded.

The teen beach on Castaway Cay offers some teen activities.

Now that my daughters are older, they prefer Carnival.

While I have personally never been on one, everyone that I know that HAS gone told me it was the best cruise they have ever been on. The cast members treat everyone so special.

As for the ships being dirty....I have NEVER heard anyone ever say that before. (and I don't believe any of the recent cruise ships that have had sickness outbreaks was a Disney Ship! It was other companies)

In my opinion Disney was way over priced and the ship was DIRTY.

If you go you will regret it. The ship is filthy, napkins in the pool, all little brats running around etc. Try to go on a Carnival Cruise.
