The thing about losing weight is that without a complete lifestyle change, it will just come back. Your body has an equilibrium to which it will return if you live your life exactly like you did. In order to change your weight permanently you need to make a permanent lifestyle change.
For me, I lost about 15 pounds by riding my bicycle everywhere. It has to be something you enjoy, or else you'll stop doing it in time and the cycle begins anew. I enjoy cycling, I do it every day and the weight stayed off.
Ok, while on the subject, look at 2 out of 3 above answers. They're trying to sell you something. The weight loss industry is a multi-billion dollar industry in this country. Science shows that dieting is many times more harmful to the human body than being overweight. Even supposed weight-related diseases (except for diabetes) are beginning to seem not so weight-related. Don't let our socioeconomic system tell you that you NEED to lose weight.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The thing I do is eat right. No fast food restaurants. Its better to
make something at home. Reason why its a lot fresher and
healthier.
Also exercise everyday. Which I try to get in everyday.
5-10 pounds is not hard to lose.

i changed my eating habits, didn't drink as much soda as i use to..then i found jamba juice which is very delicious and low on carbs and calories which it filled me up for the whole day that i didn't need to eat all that much..i quickly lost the weight cause i stuck to it on a normal basis and eventually lost the weight. your body has to be on a schedule no matter what you do, once your body gets the hang on if then it's just smooth sailing after wards.
