My 5 year old son has a very painful white spot on the tip of his tongue. Do you think it's just a canker sore

No bigger than a small pea. Doesn't apear to be raised. Very painful. Only one visable

Probably. Has he been eating/drinking something high in acid? Citrus and citrus juice? Some candy (like those Valentine hearts) are high in asorbic acid and can cause canker sores.

I don't think it's something to really worry about. Not that you shouldn't put something on it to try to stop the pain, just don't keep yourself up at night thinking about it.
