Ever lied? What does that make you? Ever stolen anything, even in it's smallest measurement? What about used the Lords name in vain, using Gods name as a curse word? I have only listed 3 of the 10 commandments. Morally, no one is a GOOD person. Everyone has done something against God. Everyone. You put how bad something is on a scale of which one is worse. But, God does not. If you even lie one time you are guilty of breaking every commandment because Gods sees all sin the same. Period. There is no greater than less than. You are a sinner and God sent His only son to die for you because He knew there was no man that could ever be good, or sin free! Most people are like the ostriches. They think if they stick their head in the ground than they are hiding and safe even though there body can be attacked at any moment. Hiding you mind, won't change the truth, no matter how much you deny it.

Why do atheists always try to bait beliver's with questions in which they state a non-truth as if it's fact?

It's not impossible for a non-believer to be good...there is such a thing as natural law! Most people subscribe to this because it is self-serving to be "good" in society. Being kind makes people feel good about themselves.

Christian morals serve God and do not bring accolades to the person but to God.

That's the difference!!

Exactly what I would say.

It is possible to be good without God. However, good has many defintions. In fact, good is a relative term.

Good could mean not getting caught, it could mean not breaking the law. Good could mean being nice to people. Good could mean strict religious devotion.

It is critical for there to be a higher standard of good, one which is higher than our laws. Our laws can be twisted and perverted. The higher good cannot be.

The higher good has existed for generations, across time and cultures. Certain underlying values exist in every culture. There is a reason for that. There is a reason why being a traitor is not something societies esteem.

Everyone is born with the light, the knowing good form evil. People who know nothing of God, can be good people just as some "religious" people aren't so good.

One of the greatest confusions among Christians is how they believe everyone is going to hell if they are not in a religion and going to church. It reminds me of the joke about the three suprises upon reaching heaven.
1. The first surprise is you made it.
2. The second suprise is a lot of people you thought would make it, didn't.
3. The third surprise is a lot of people you thought would not make it, did.

A lot of people who don't go to church know our Heavenly Father. There are a lot of church going people who don't know God.

You're comparing God's Law with Man's!

Man in no way has the wisdom of God. Man's law in no way can compare with God's. God is far more farsighted than any man. God knows the result of the smallest sin, and sees that ALL sin leads to unhappiness, and therefore, spiritual death.

Think of how many unjust laws are on the books of men. All of God's laws are just and right and good.

If you're talking about good according to mans standard,it is not impossible. If you're talking about good enough to enter the Kingdom of Heaven,it IS impossible.Jesus told a story about a Pharisee and a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed to God saying "thank you that I am not as bad as other men, especially this tax collector here". the t.c. said "God have mercy on me ,the sinner" the tax collector went home justified before God,the pharisee did not.The worst mistake you can make is to compare yourself with others. There is none without sin,no not one.

Isaiah 64:6 says "....all our good works are like filthy rags in the sight of God." Then what does God require from us....that your heart be in the right place. For your information, many good and innocent people are sitting in jail as we speak.

Being a good person has nothing to do with believing in a ficticious person. Being good is treating other people like you want to be treated. God is for those who can't accept the fact that this life is all we have. Enjoy life and treat other people with respect.

Lets see, a sense of self worth, compassion, empathy, love, intelligence, a lot of things that make up your personality that don't revolve around god. I too am an atheists and have lots of compassion for others and don't like doing evil things, so there ya go.
