1.has the long distance thing ever worked out?i asked a question like half an hour ago about this girl. But next year we're goin to different schools is it worth asking her out to the grad dance? Or even asking her out.

I had a long distance relationship that was a few states away, but close enough that we could reach other by driving a few hours. We dated for a bunch of years and then got married...so it worked out.

Going to a graduation dance doesn't mean that you have to date the girl forever, it could just mean that you're going on a date. If you like her and you are looking for a long-term relationship, then it's worth asking her out and giving it a shot. If you're not sure if you like her, don't think it's worth the hassle, and would like to keep yourself open to meeting other people in college, then wait a while and see if the two of you stay in touch. Besides, relationships end up working out if they're right.

I met my wife online. I lived in New York at the time and she lived in Massachusetts.

I met one of my closest friends online around the same time too. She lived, and still does, in Texas.

But I was a lot older than you, with the money to buy plane tickets and so on, and the time freedom to travel because I'm self-employed. So I don't know how far the analogy goes.
