I think Satan will have a nice, warm corner for them to stand in while he goes and gets them some ice water. They'll learn patience, at the very least. They'll also be reminded of the Sixth Commandment, which states very clearly, "Thou Shalt Not Kill." This reminder will be punctuated by large pineapples being shoved sideways up their rectums. (See "Little Nicky" for a stunning visual representation. It's worth the money.)

Why would you think that someone who beat a child to death was following the Bible?
The Bible says "spare the rod, spoil the child" not beat a child to death.

What about the Words of the Lord Jesus, as recorded in St. Mark 9:42 -- "And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in Me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea."
Obviously Jesus believes that good parents would not be beating a child to death!!
Perhaps you are thinking of the O.T. where some believe that it speaks about rebellious teens ....?

The Bible does say any child that dishonors his parents is to be put to death, so... they were being good Christians.
Bravo for them.
Now, if only we could get more Christians to follow this particular rule, that vile religion would be demolished in short order.
--------------
Exod. 20:12 -- Honor thy Father and Mother.
Lev. 20:9 -- Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.
Jesus quotes these in Mark 7:9-13. In this, he not only re-emphasizes this, but he points out that the Jews were twisting the law by the use of Corban to avoid doing these very things, and pointing out that they were still required to do them and to stop twisting God's word.

As there is no scripture in the Bible that says you should beat a child to death, they could not have been following the Bible when they did that.

Pro 19:18 "Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying."
Deu 18:10 "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire,..."
2Kin 16:2-3 "...and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.
But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel."
but also
Mat.18:2 " And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

Cordell, just in case some people wonder what you're talking about, you should enlighten them as to why these people beat their child to death.
He was not praying according to their wishes and the instructions of their church.
Doesn't it make you proud to be a Christian?

It may have been in response to the child's bad spelling, in which case my objections are somewhat ameliorated.

your thoughts are small electric pulses traveling though brain cells.
your nervous system shuts down and your brain deteriorates after you die.
your body matter would decompose and become part of its surroundings.
the energy leftover would do the same.
you won't see heaven or hell. you'd be dead.
neither will they...unfortunately.
people should forgive themselves and go on living peaceful good lives without having to be threatened with eternal damnation.
