I've been working on my abdominals and I tend to find time late at night before I go to bed. Just wondering if it matters what time of day I exercise to get the best results.

Toughest muscle to work. This is the very last place you will loss the waight during exercise. You will burn 40% more fat when working out in the morning. I know its difficult to do, but that is the best.

I don't really think it matters, though a lot of exercising right before bed could make it hard for you to sleep and by exercising first thing in the morning you can wake yourself up and get your metabolism going.

As far as the best time of day to burn fat and build muscle.. any bodybuilders around?

There are different views on this, and all of them hold some validity. My best advice is, excercise when it is convenient for you. If you try to turn your world around in order to make time to exercise, chances are, you will give up on it. To not excercise at all poses the worst problem of all.

I tend to believe that, if you can swing it, the best time to excercise is first thing in the morning. It gets your blood pumping, boosts your energy, and you are starting from "ground zero" so to speak, in the fact that you don't have food on your stomache to burn before you begin burning up the stored up fat cells in your body for energy.

If that doesn't work for you, schedule some time for yourself anytime of the day. As I have already stated, it is better to excercise anytime of the day, than to not do it at all! If you do it before bed, it can also be relaxing and help you sleep. Personally, I found that before bed made me stay up and I didn't get the sleep I needed. First thing in the morning works best for me!

God bless!

The best time to work out is the first thing in the morning. That gets your metabolism started for the day. It gives you more energy and burns calories through the day.

Morning. It gets your metabolism going all day. Worst time to exercise is at night. It gets you all worked up so you can't get to bed.

Working out gets your body rearing to go, I don't advise doing any strenuous exercise before going to bed. You need to settle down and relax to get at good nights sleep.

It doesnt really matter what time you exercise.

But early morning is the best because if you do it before bed all your muscles will relax whereas during the day they are active.

Good luck!

i don't think the time of day matters but the conditions do. In hot weather, it is great to work out in because you sweat more and burn more calories. just make sure you keep hydrated. That's why you see athletes in sweats when they work out, even though it's hot out. The hotter it is, the more calories you burn.

either from 8am to 10am or from 2pm to 4pm get at least two hours if you really wish to get fit. I know because m in x-country and track and we stretch then run for 30 min then we do drills and then we stretch again then we lift some weights I only do 10lb or 15lb weights.

early in the morning would be the best time BUT let your body warm up a little bit.
