Matthew 23:9. And call none your father upon earth; for one is your father, who is in heaven.

This can be easily understood that do no one should be called god on earth, except there is only one god that is in heaven.

The bible writers describe the meaning as below:
Call none your father--Neither be ye called masters, etc... The meaning is that our Father in heaven is incomparably more to be regarded, than any father upon earth: and no master to be followed, who would lead us away from Christ. But this does not hinder but that we are by the law of God to have a due respect both for our parents and spiritual fathers [1 Corinthians 4:15], and for our masters and teachers.

They screwed up the meaning for their own likings.

Jesus is Jehovah Gods son.
If Jesus had not died, there would be no Ransom for mankind
Since he did die, Jesus would not be in a position to Resurrect himself.
Jehovah God, Jesus Father did the Resurrection of Jesus and accepted his blood as a Ransom for all of mankind.

Taking this a bit out of context aren't you? Just because Jesus says to call no man father does not mean He is not God. If you think so, why would that be saying He is not God? We are to honor our parents but what this text is saying is that no man should be called Father. You will find in the Catholic church they do call their priest Father, something to be rendered only to God. But then they believe their priests are gods, they take the place of God on Earth and the Pope is th e highest or Pontiff, thus the name Vicar of Christ, or literally taking the place of Christ. He is called God by those in the church. Why should not God in Heaven be revered more than any creature on Earth? check out the site below if you care to study it a bit further to see what the bible really says.

Is the religious title “father” correct? It is used widely by Roman Catholics and Anglicans. “Padre,” meaning “father,” is also widely used. But Jesus taught his disciples: “You must call no one on earth your father, since you have only one Father, and he is in heaven.”

Why do clergymen and their followers disobey this command from the Lord Jesus Christ? The pope of Rome is usually addressed as “Holy Father.” But his Italian staff often address him as “Most Holy Father.” “Holy Father” is a title that appears only once in the Bible. (John 17:11) It is the exclusive title of the Supreme Being. Is it right for creatures, who are earthly and imperfect, to be addressed by that title?

Jesus begins speaking about the Pharisees, who were a prominent sect of Judaism. They liked to dress and act in such a way as to call attention to themselves. Their religion was one of ostentation—their style of clothing, their principal places at meals, their front seats in the synagogues, and their titles of honor. They even claimed greater respect than that which was given parents. They wanted to be called father. However, Jesus shows that all his followers are equal as God’s children. Any title that suggests the opposite is a haughty usurpation of something that belongs to God. Thus, Jesus forbids the use of the word “father” as a title of honor in a religious sense. Jesus insists that his followers have only one Father in the faith, his Father, the Almighty God.

True Christians today avoid using flattering religious titles, and they avoid the practice of setting men on ecclesiastical pedestals, the only form of address for ministers is “brother.” (2 Peter 3:15) That is in harmony with what Jesus said: “You are all brothers.”

"...CHRIST JESUS...being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
--Philippians 2:5-8

"For unto us A CHILD IS BORN, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace."

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, AND DWELT AMONG US, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

*sigh* Jesus was not a god, not related to a god, not sent by a god. He was a mortal man with some good ideas who may or may not have been a little nutty, who's followers got a little carried away after he died.
