Wine coolers is not 100%ethanol. There is water present and that component would freeze at 0 degrees celsius

Coolers and beer don't have a high enough percentage of alcohol not to freeze I think it has to be under 28% alcohol to freeze. We have vodka and rum in freezer all the time it does not freeze but if I put a cooler in to get it cold I always open it first incase I forget about it If not opened bottles can shatter.

wine coolers contain more 'cooler' than wine, and wine itself has a relatively low alcohol content.
Pure alcohol will freeze, but at a very very low temperature. Water freezes at 0 degrees celsius whereas alcohol freezes at -80 degrees celsius (-117F). That's why you'll come across alcohol thermometers on occasion; because alcohol remains stable at most normal earth temperatures.
You can keep spirits in your home freezer in their liquid form quite easily, as your freezer probably doesn't get below about 20C. You could put some ethanol in your car and see how that keeps, you'll notice that it doesn't even thicken when it gets really really cold.
Imagine what would happen to your engine if your petrol started to freeze!

It depends on the alcohol content of the beverage. Wine coolers don't have as much alcohol as say vodka. Vodka you usually store in your freezer, vodka does not freeze at 30 degrees.

The reason your coolers froze it is because they are not very high in alcohol therefor the freezing point is much lower, actually it is close to water freezing point. The higher your alcohol content the lower the freezing point.

Liquors will get syrupy in a freezer, beer will get slushy, but if it's cold enough alcohol will freeze solid.

Pure ethanol (drinking alcohol) will freeze at -175 degrees F
Wine coolers are probably less than 10% alcohol, they'll freeze at approximately 25 degrees F, not much colder than water at 32 degrees. 40% alcohol (most hard liquor) will indeed freeze at about -10 degrees F. Most freezers are right around 20-25 degrees farenheit.
