Ok I feel like making a stance and going on a rant here.
Seriously....think about what you believe and then answer this....
How in the world can you believe in a personal god?
I'm not going to go into whether god exists or not because that won't go anywhere. But seriously, how ridiculous does this sound? Someone sitting up in heaven watching and judging every single thing we do, listening to our prayers and ...not answering them apparently. I mean are you seriously arrogant enough to think that you are so special that you actually matter to god if there is one? If this god created the entire universe what the hell do we matter?
At some point you have to face reality and realize that even if there is a god, he isnt personal and nothing that you do or say or pray about matters to him. In fact all of our worldly worries will be irrelevant to this god.

Think about it, and think about it again.

If god gave me free will and reason, then this is what I choose to do with it.

yea agree with u...if u read all those religious books...everything is created in da context of earth and does not even show da slightest existence bout the enitre universe...shows how 'made-up' religious books are...I believe God is us, and we are God...we make our own decisions to eternal peace...I believe our combined energy and thought of everything in the universe makes up God and that way God can be personal to everything and everyone in the universe...Besides, all religious books describe God as if God is a human, with practices and traits that only humans have...this decludes lives in other planets that may exist which shows how uncertain religious books are on other planets and galaxies...

The main reason christians cannot comprehend whatcha talkin bout is becuz they believe God really had a family up there and had only 1 son(so sad) and he sent that only son down here to save us, so in their point of view its justifiable that we humans are precious to God...hmm how ridicule...i mean im not tryin to ditch that religion...i believe in Jesus Christ...but i think we r all God's child, sharing the same status as Jesus himself, everything and everyone in the universe shares the same status, jus that jesus is someone who is God realized perhaps...

Good for you!
I myself, even I, arrived at the exact same conclusion around 1990.
In 1991, something happened that changed my mind. This event was so profound I turned to the Bible. Unfortunately, I moved to associate with the pop-culture contemporary christian movement and was within 1 year disillusioned. Turning aside again, I returned to the godless life. Yet, something happened. Because I had actually read the entire Bible in that year,(1991) an overview of the Bible started to come into focus. The problem was that childhood indoctrination ran deep, and made understanding the scriptures nearly impossible. What I noticed was that all the Churches I had ever attended, were not really in agreement with what the whole Bible said. A few examples of true Christian conduct stood out from the reading. About 7 years later it all came into focus, and I changed my life to learn to apply what was being taught by the only true Christians I had then found.

This personal experience is ambiguous for the simple reason that, at any point in our lives we can and do change our minds. At some point, you may actually think that reading the entire Bible is a good idea, so that you can see what it says. If you do it, certain things will stand out, but what does, will actually reflect the person you are. If you are cynical, the God of the Bible will seem cynical. If you are mean, the god of the Bible will seem mean.
But, if you are humble, and are reading to try to understand the perspective of god? You will perhaps find it.

Yes you have free will. We all do. And that includes the freeness to change our minds. Have yourself a good life!

For some reason your statement reminded me of an archived newspaper article I read that was from the late 1800's. The author totally went off on those who dreamed of space flight. That a heavier than air object would ever fly was absolutely ludicrous in his mind. And that was over a "simple" human accomplishment. The fact that you, in the physical world, have trouble comprehending a supernatural being is normal. How can you fathom something totally outside of your experience? Your simplistic mental image of "someone sitting up in heaven watching and judging every single thing we do" illustrates just how difficult it is for finite beings to comprehend.

As a Christian, I do believe God cares about us and our world. I also believe that's what the sending of Jesus Christ into this world was all about. Yes, there are many things in life that seem to defy logic. If you check out the life Christ, you'll find yet another...

Sorry about that. If you will check history you will find there was a Jesus that came to this world that did all kinds of miracles. If you will look further into the bible you will find that God notes even a sparrow that falls to the ground so how much more would He treasure us? He sent His only Son to die for us so we could live. There are hundreds of places that state we are special to Him and we will live and reign with Him when He comes for us. Sorry you don't have a personal relationship with God but i sure do and would not trade anything in this world for it. You are correct that God gave you a free will and you are free to choose what you want. He will not force you to do anything you really do not want to do. by the way, that is one big difference between God and Satan. Satan will use force or anything he can to get you to go his way but God uses only love. Sorry you feel the way you do and I do hope you change your mind before it is too late.

First, I can believe in a personal god very easily, in much the same way I beleive in the person who wrote this post.

Second, your characterization of god may be what you think He is like, but that certainly is not what I think, nor what most Christians believe.

Third, He answers every prayer. It is just that sometimes the answer is "no" or "not yet".

Fourth, it is not arrogance to think that God loves me, and you. He gave us proof of that in the person of Jesus. A very real historical figure whom we can prove from non-Biblical sources. I think it is amazing that in all of creation you and I are considered so important to God that Jesus did what he did.

Finally, God gave you free will. It is only as a free being that you have the ability to return the love He gives you. If you chose to turn from Him, it is your choice. However, God is still there, still personal, and still waiting for you to let Him be a part of your life.

Evidently U have never had a life threatening situation where U have had to call on God thru prayer. When U do and U cry out to him U will see how he answers. He becomes very personal then. Yes everyone has a choice. Try God and if U don't like him the devil will always take U back. Sounds like this is where U will be happiest!

That's your choice. Now hear what God says:

Romans 1:20 For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable;

Romans 2:14-15 For whenever people of the nations that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them and, between their own thoughts, they are being accused or even excused.

Psalm 14:1 The senseless one has said in his heart:
“There is no Jehovah.”…..

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. ... KJV

Yes, you do, have free will, and it is your choice to believe what you will, wether, your belief is good or bad true or false, but are you making a choice based on fact or your oppinion?your opinion may be biased and therefore flawed and/or arrogant, and it may also be you are the one that needs to think realistically, what you are sugesting in your statement, even though you may want to believe it, realistically may be flawed and unrealistic, and therefore even unrealisticly arrogant, have you thought about that? Maybe you should think about it, and think carefully, if you think that I am arrogant for believing that God answers prayers and listens to them, then I guess in your mind I am, but could it possibly be that you are the arrogant one by refuting God, could it be that your mind is too small to fathom the existance of God and you are therefore, not even considering that you could also be wrong?would that not be the real arrogance because you are thinking that your belief is the only factual one, yes you have the right to believe anything you wish, that is, true, but I believe that you are not the only person who has that right I believe that all the rest of humankind has that right also, wether, or not, you, agree, with, what, the rest of us believe has nothing to do with that right, that, we have, your, reasoning, may very well be the arrogant as well as the flawed one. Just because you believe what you do, does not, make it the right belief. No offence, but really, think about it, you are stating as fact things you have no idea about, how logical is that?Yes you do, certainly, have the right to believe what you want, just like everyone else, wether or not it is the right belief, and certainly, you do, have the choice of what you want to do with it, but your right hasn't been challenged here, you are the one challenging the right of others here so maybe you should be the one to think about it! At least I can honestly say that I have prayed to Jehovah God the one and only true God he isthe hearer and answerer of prayers I do know that for a fact by experience, Yes I have had my prayers answered and therefore I can say thast he is and was and will be the aanswerer and the hearer of prayers, but ofcourse he does not answer every prayer, and why should he answer the prayers of those who refuse to get to know him maintaining his non -existence, I did at one time doubt his existence, but I was proven wrong, over and over. Peace knowledge and serenity I wish to you even though I do not agree with you.

Well, the bible says that God is even concerned about a little sparrow. And that He even keeps track of how many hairs we each have. Personaly, I believe that we are quite more valuable to god than the entire universe. You see, it took Him just a week to make the moon and stars, the sun and the earth and jupiter and mars. How loving and patient He must be "cause He's still working on me...thats a song.

It is just too big for our brains - that is why we have faith. The Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. But in all ways acknowledge God and he will guide your paths"

Everyone is given a measure of faith. It is not of our own devise, but given to us by God. Faith is by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. If you open your heart to actually HEAR what God is saying through His Word, the Bible (or preaching from the Bible) then your faith will become greater and greater. As one grows in faith, there are more and more profound experiences of God, which cannot be explained to one who is relying only on his "common sense" without faith.

Think of it like this. The color "blue" is a reality. But you can never explain it to someone who was born blind. No matter how smart they are, or how smart you are, it cannot be done.

Such are the things of God. You can't really "get" it, until you "got" it......hope that helps you understand.

God is Oh So Real, and Oh So Magnificent, and Oh So Beyond our comprehension or our understanding or our words. I know it for a fact, and would lay down my life defending the truth of it.

Hope you find out some day, too.

God is omni present meaning he can be in mor then one place at the same time. Things are not always going to go the way we want them to right away. This does not mean our prayers were not listened to or answered somtime we just have to wait on God. God can be personal to you if you let HIm be. God loves and treats every one equal. The more u depend on Him and u truley beive that wat you aske for will be granted, God can become a personal friend justlike that. ( but when doing this becare ful not to use Him only when you need him) Would you only use your best friend for the things you need? the more u love HIm u will grow closer to him every day. I hope that answers it
