I am looking for a bar to go to this Saturday that will have a more young professional crowd. I don't want a loud/shoulder to shoulder club. I am not into dancing.. Also what is the standard clothes to wear... Are jeans and cami still acceptable? (I don't go out in the city anymore :( )
Any thoughts.. I am going to be staying a friends while he is away .. He lives on the upper east side.

There are plenty of nice bars on the Upper East Side you can go to.
Session 73 - 1st Ave & 73rd - nice place, sometimes they have live jazz music
Stir - 1st Ave. bet. 73 & 74 - great cocktail menu
Vero Wine Bar - 2nd Ave. & 78th - very classy, but very small - especially the bathroom!
Auction House - 89th - bet. 1st & 2nd
The Bar @ Etas Unis - really small wine bar, but one of my fave hangouts - sit at the bar and try and resist the chocolate souffles that they make! They also serve food, so might be a nice place to start out the night.
If you go up 2nd Avenue to around 86th, there are lots of bars on that stretch heading uptown to 96th. I'm not as familiar with that area.
Another option is to head down 2nd Avenue to the stretch between 54th Street and 47th Street. There are a whole bunch of bars there that really cater to the after-work professionals set. I think you will find the same type of crowd on Saturday. And if you don't like one, just walk next door to the next place!
Jeans are acceptable! Most girls will be wearing nice jeans, boots and cute tops/sweaters. Have fun!
