and you beleive in god right now, where would your faith lie?
im just wondering how many christians (or whatever) would stay "faithful" after the THREAT of being condemed to hell for all eternity is gone.
i know there are a lot that would stay faithful, but im pretty sure most really wouldnt
but i know theyd lie, whether its because they convinced themself otherwise or not

religion shouldnt so controversial =)

Yes. You're right. Christians shouldn't love God because He could send them to Hell if they don't, but should love God for saving them for being so bad yet redeeming their souls from Hell despite their sinful behavior.

Actually there is a good possibility non to test death at all!

Jehovah will not destroy the righteous along with the wicked. (Psalm 145:20) He has never done such a thing, and he will not do it when he cleanses the earth of all badness. (Compare Genesis 18:22, 23, 26.) In fact, the last book of the Bible speaks of “a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues,” coming out of “the great tribulation.” (Revelation 7:9-14) Yes, a great multitude will survive the great tribulation in which the present wicked world ends, and they will enter God’s new world. There, obedient mankind can benefit fully from God’s marvelous provision to free mankind from sin and death. (Revelation 22:1, 2) Thus, the “great crowd” need never experience death. What a unique prospect!

I believe in God and I believe as spirit I am eternal. It is given my soul would soon perish after a physical death. Threats are only for the ignorants who thought everything would end if religious doctrines are not strictly observed. I have no problem as far as my belief in the omnipotence is concerned. I probably have to work out my faith a little more. Because right now as I speak, I am bit scared about death and leaving my family in dis-array. In short, I have got to find a way to love my family without being too attached to them.

there is nowhere in the bible that states you will live for eternity in Hell. Show me one place and I will give you $100,000 cash. The only way to live for eternity is to accept eternal life in Jesus. All others will die and be no more as they will be turned to ashes. See malachi 4:1 I will even help you with a tool to look for your passage so start your search and see if you can collect your money. I will enter into a binding contract with you that if you show me you get the money. good luck.

For born-again Christians, they will never die.
Eternal life starts the day you ask Christ to take control of your life. That makes me want to be more faithful to Him. Death holds no fear because we are assured of life afterwards.

Religion remains controversial because people make it part of their identity. If you attack a belief, it becomes personal very quickly.

Well if I knew I never was going to die, than there would be no reason to worry about an afterlife and such. I'd still believe there is a God, just wouldn't worry about it as much.

Umm, I am never going to die, I believe in God and my faith lies in His grace, I have no threat of hell for I have been redeemed by Jesus, and I don't serve Him because He threatens me with hell but because I love Him.

your thoughts are small electric pulses traveling though brain cells.

your nervous system shuts down and your brain deteriorates after you die.

your body matter would decompose and become part of its surroundings.

the energy leftover would do the same.

you won't see heaven or hell. you'd be dead.

people should forgive themselves and go on living peaceful good lives without having to be threatened with eternal damnation.

I'd rather die now and be done with my sin and offense against God than live forever in this sinful state under the curse.
