same thing with a guy a guy breaks up with a girl friends say "it's her loss" but is it really her loss? She finds another man more wonderful more amazing and in which SHE has more in common with.

-when you think about relationships and breaking up is there such a thing as "someone's loss" because eventually everyone finds someone better then the person they had before.....

-do you agree or disagree with this statement?-

we only say it's his or her loss to help comfort the person we're talking to. it's just like when someone tells you they're getting divorced or have lost a loved one to a disease we say we're sorry to hear that. it's become an automated response, very rarely do people truly empathize nowadays

I totally agree with you. In short term (dating) relationships, breaking up is a way of growing up and moving on. Furthermore, breaking up generally happens when the relationship is no longer happy and healthy for both people, so its not a bad thing, its a good thing.

Well, I dont think its anyone's loss. Its better to have broken up than to be in a relationship that both people aren't happy in. The statement "its better to have loved than not loved at all" is more accurate, in my opinion.
