like, if i made green tea to drink, then wanted to compliment it w/ chicken, could i sprinkle the contents of packet on my food? like one would do with basil?? how come i never heard of any idea like this? is it useless or just not commonly said?

Green tea isn't a herbal tea - it is the same leaf as black tea, only green. It wouldn't hurt you, but I don't know if you would get much benefit. If you wanted to get the flavour, maybe you could make a sauce with a green tea infusion by using a tea bag.

You might get more out of it if you dried it and smoked it, just joking, but some do smoke the leaf
