My daughter was killed in a car accident in October 2005. While her sister and myself (mother) were mourning this tragic event, her father, got control of a bank account set up in her name to pay scholarships at the local high school. He lied to the bank. Her father has since spent the money after giving 250.00 to the school. there was 3000.00 in the account. I spoke with an attorney who told me that it would cost more to go to court in attorney and court fees than what was in the account. I also spoke to our counties sheriff's department. They said I would have to go to court to prove that he had no right to the money before they could do anything. I had full custody of her and I am the executor of her will. Her father also stole money from the funeral home intended for my oldest daughter and myself. Also he refused to pay anything towards the cost of the funeral or headstone after signing a statement saying he was responsible for half. Nice guy huh?

personally i would write it off and put it down to him been a sick sad individual i am sorry for your loss it must be terrible but to have her father do that as well only makes it worse he probably doesn't have a conscience but he has to live with the fact that he stole from his deceased daughter. if it is going to cost more to get it back and sounds like he doesn't have it to give back as he stole it in the first place i wouldn't bother to be honest you know him for what he is so i would have no further contact with him plus going to court will make you have to drag up all the hurt again i feel for you on this one as it must be a horrible thing to go through just take comfort in the fact that your daughter was a better person than her father and try to move on as best you can it may seem he has got away with it but it's up to you it's a real shame and my heart goes out to you all the best with whatever you decide

Call the police and the media
Tell them
also call the prosecutor and the district attorney
i would NOT let this go
file charges
talk to someone else at the bank and at the police department.
I would not care how much it costs, I would press the issue so that your daughter could rest in peace
sorry for your loss
glad you got rid of her father
he sounds like he was a jerk
and soon to be a felon!

My heart goes out to you. In all truthfulness, the money you'd spend, unless you took him to civil court, would not be worth your grief. I have always found it best to keep away from people of so low a level as your daughters father!

why the hell does a 17 year old have a will? the only thing you can do is go to court but in the end it really isn't going to be worth it because it really will cost more in the end. just let it go. it's har but unless you want to end up paying more for this in the end, it's the only thing you can do. move on and have nothing to do with him.
