You should always look at the weather and see what's ensured for you and prepare accordingly. Look how many stories are on the news about hikers dieing because they weren't prepared for the weather. Remember also even the weather reports can also be wrong so be prepared even though they say 35% sun or rain it's 65% it might.

You NEED to do more than LOOK UP. You need to study the weather for your area for the length of time you plan on being in the elements. Mother Nature is NOTHING to screw with, she can kill you with a whim. Just look in your history books at Armistice day (in the 50's) Here it started to be a great Indian Summer day, we dropped close to 90 degrees in a matter of hours. Hunters that were out, died, AFTER killing their animal counterparts and using them for warmth. Like in the cowboy days, you heard about cowboys killing their horses, and climbing inside to stay warm.
