*Edit Silly me I thought the question was what percentage of faith is not based on bible. Oh well, i will let the following answer stand, but answer the real question. Hardly any faith is based on fact, that is what makes it religion in my opinion and is faith. But the following is religious doctrine beliefs people put their faith in that is not in the bible. I am leaving it because it should be of interest to some, and a lot of Christians are not aware these are not in the bible.

1)Once saved always saved
2)modern day miracles
3)become Christian and all your problems will go away
4)being saved before baptism
5)rapture
6)1000 year reign of Jesus on earth
7)Prosperity doctrines
8)Name it and claim it
9)the many churches are the one church
10)you cannot fall from grace or turn away from christianity if you are a true Christian
11) you never were a Christian if you leave Christianity
12)Christmas
13)Easter
14)sinners prayer
15) making the word saints elevated above other Christians
16)confession to priests
17)praying to saints
18) making the same office such a biship, elder, pastor, oveseer different positions of power when the bible is clear these are just different names for one office.

Do I really need to go on and on. You see how much modern day Christians believe that is not in the bible and most are condemned. Anything not in the bible is covered by this one verse of Paul Galations 1:8,9.*

What is your question???

All I can say is that I have 100% faith in the Bible based on fact. Seems like everyday archaeology proves that things did exist.

How much faith do you have that George Washington ever existed? Abraham Lincoln? There is more written history that proves Moses existed, and Jesus walked the earth than you will ever find about the founding fathers.

I have spend over 50 years reading, learning and studying the Bible. Including learning to read the original languages. Have also read many works (pro and con) on the scriptures.

Over that time, my faith in the message, accuracy, and reliability of the Bible continues to grow. No historical fact in scripture has ever been disproven. No contradiction has been found that can not be easily explained when all of scripture is considered.

I have also seen the life changing, redeeming power that is found in those words. I have witnessed the miracles in spirit, soul and body that they bring.

The Bible is based on fact.

In gen.1:1 the Bible starts with a theistic proposition--God is--if you believe this by FAITH the Bible becomes a book to believe in. If you do not accept by FAITH the Bible is just another book. I believe the Bible is truth 100%. Can i prove it-- no--Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.
Anytime a decision is made faith is manifest. For you must choose.

Your question seem to answerable, by the fact that I knew the words Jesus spoke (how I felt about the world) before I ever read the bible. Reading the Old Testament, just reinforced my dislike for the things of world, but when I read the words spoken by Jesus I recognized the words (I knew that I was not alone about the things I felt in my heart, concerning the world).

Therefore, the answer to your question would be 0 percent

If you notice how the bible is written you will see it's primary focus is to inform. Not to cause a sensation, or tell an interesting story. It doesn't use adjectives, just cold hard events that took place. That doesn't sound like mythology to me. Somebody writing a fantastical story would want to, at least, make it more exciting, terrifying, etc. See for yourself.

I wouldnt call it 'faith'.

I'd say its obvious if you're scientifically literate and you read the book of genesis - its obviously written by a primitive bronze age trible who on the contrary of having a supernatural intelligence telling them about the Universe had only their own beliefs and ideas which are basically worthless.

Jesus had some worthwhile things to say and its always upsetting that Christians listen to them about as much as Satanists do.

Most of the time, faith is something you believe even thou you cannot see.
For example, I may believe that everybody here are young people, but they could be 85 years old !!!
