Few.
Most people approach the topic of religion with emotion, rather than logic.

Face it, MOST questions asked here are by people who already have an opinion about what the answer should be. Very often the questions are phrased to "showcase" their opinion; and therefore are actually baiting people with contrary ideas.
Some questions are obviously posted by people who want to see their question "up in lights", and have their moment of fame. So many of those questions are so badly composed and idiotic as to also be baiting for those of us you are mean and sarcastic by nature anyway. These people are too dumb and bored to even ask a question that justifies our time to read it; therefore, if we receive some pleasure in blasting them....then the day wasn't a total waste.
STOP trying to be the Answer Nazi of Q&A !

When someone disses God and Jesus, I'm gonna let them have it with both barrels, IF that is "defensive", then so be it. You can almost excuse someone who is an atheist for their stupidity, but there is no excuse for some of the sick questions some of these people have asked about God and Jesus.

It's not automatically being defensive if someone thinks you're wrong.

Sure, but I doubt that people go to the R&S category because they feel like having friendly banter. It has been my experience that people just go there to fight. I try to stay away most of the time.

I do not get defensive in my answers as long as they don't try to force me to change my views on things. I hate it when they tell me that I'm going to "hell" because my beliefs don't coincide with theirs.

This is kind of a touchy section, and people get very heated about stuff that's asked and said here. It's just how it is, and there's not much that is gonna change it.

i can't believe that you are persecuting me like this....
sorry sarcasam overload...
it is the simple nature of the questions that are asked here, most of them are puttting somebody on the defensive just by being asked.

We would have saved lot of time, if people would have been less defensive.
