Yeast infections are incredibly common on antibiotics. Don't know about appendicitis and as far as I know the doctors don't know why they occur either.
If you are on antibiotics everyday you should look into taking acidophilus. It is a naturally occuring bacteria that live in your intestines and vagina. Antibiotics can kill it off causing all sorts of problems. Although found in yogurt, they do offer a supplement and I always use it when on antibiotics.

Yeast infections are actually very common while on antibiotics. In addition to the bad bacteria that are making you sick, the antibiotic kills off all the good bacteria in your vagina that keep the yeast at bay. So the yeast cells go nuts and cause a yeast infection. You can help stave this off by eating yogurt while you're taking your antibiotic (not at the same time, though -- separate them by a few hours) or taking a probiotic like Acidophilus.
For the same reason, diarrhoea is a very frequent occurrence while on antibiotics. Again, yogurt can help. Or cottage cheese. Anything with live bacterial cultures.

Yes, I for one take tetricyclin for acne, it is a low key, specialized antibiotic. There are broad range antibiotics used to kill an unknown bacteria or bacterial infection, this is very powerful, and it's likely there wont be additional infections. But if you're on an antibiotic, there is likelyhood of getting a yeast infection, in fact the probability is higher if you're on an antibiotic. It is worthy of note; yeast is a fungus, antibiotics cannot and will not kill yeast infections.

Yes, though it's more likely if the antibiotic is absorbed into more tissues... A few antibiotics like Macrobid only end up in certain places.
If you're on an antibiotic, you can get infections from yeast because it's a fungus and is not killed by antibiotics. In fact, antibiotics kill the bacteria that compete with yeast and make it more likely to infect.
You can also get infections from bacteria that aren't killed by your antibiotic for the same reason. Most antibiotics only kill a certain range of bacteria, so there will be others that will be able to take over once their competition dies.

Yes. Many antibiotics are specific to a type of infection. Your new infection may not be cured by that antibiotic.
Yeast infections aren't caused by bacteria- they're caused by yeast, and treated with anti-fungal medications.

you should NEVER take antibiotics everyday. taking antibiotics regularly makes it possible that the bacteria in your body become immune. if they do and you do get an infection, you have a huge problem.
plus, antibiotics dont only kill infections, they kill ALL bacteria, even the probiotics that are needed in your intestine to digest fungi and vegetables.
and yes, you can get an infection while taking antibiotics. its a cure, not a preventitive.
