Actually it is a lovey dovey,feeling close and kinda word which you could use for the ones you care. It can be "My Dear/ My Life/My Precious/ My One and Only"
A hubby could call his wife "canim" or a wife could call her hubby as well. Or a mom could call her children canim, too. You can also call your girl friend or your close friend canim .
Like i told you its an expression that you call anyone whom you feel close and care about...
