I have a friend who has tons of game - the guy has everything - looks, flair, money, etc... but this girl that he really likes tells him she'd rather be friends first. I keep warning him not to fall into this trap... Once you are in the "friend zone" there is no way back and pretty soon he'll be listening to the stories of her screwing other guys. I tell him to turn on all the charm he's got and keep pushing for a romantic relationship... Am I right?

I think it can go both ways. I was friends with this guy for about 8 months, we got closer and closer and now we are married and have 3 going on 4 kids. So I think you should see if they want to get together with you and some others, maybe for a dinner thing or party, and see if she appears to be into him or not. It's usually obvious if there is flirting and more attraction than just friends.

Sure, being friends is great, that's if you want to be alone by yourself on the weekends thinking why did you want to only be friends with her. My advice is to ditch her. If she wants to be friends, she clearly is not interested in a relationship. Time to move on. Otherwise, let your friend fall in to the measly traps and then afterwards laugh at him for not believing you. At least that's what I would do. Ah, life is cruel, but I'm a cruel hearted guy. =)

If he keeps pushing, he is likely to push her right out the door!

What is wrong with being friends. I wouldn't want to date someone who wasn't my friend. Your life mate should be your best friend anyways.....so why not start out being friends before you date?

And maybe she wants to make sure she likes him before she dates him. Just because YOU think he has game and charm doesn't mean she does. Maybe she is looking for more than "game"

Not necessarily. Sometimes being a friend first helps you to get to know someone. I doubt she will tell him about her relationships, etc. esp. if she knows he likes her. if he absolutely can't stand being just friends, he should only pursue a romantic relationship. but if he can tolerate it, he might be able to learn more about her. info that would help him in their possible future relationship.

I met my husband are freshman year in college
We begin dating our senior year.
We dated for three years, then got engaged.
Friends make the best long term husbands and wife
It's find being friends, but your friend should date and see other girls. She might be his friend, and meet some one else.

Nope. Take it from a girl, friends first is way better in our opinion. It'll show her he really cares about her and not that he just wants to get some.

my best male friend became my b/f. We were together for years and lived together. Only prob, if you break up it is also your best friend you lose.
Could also be she doesn't want him as more than a friend and is trying to let him down easy. Or she has been hurt before and doesn't want to be again so is taking it slow
