I need good reasons to let my parents let me have a myspace...i would love advice from parents....thanx, and i don't want to sneak behind my parents back because thats not right, so what can say to convince my parents...please help?

I'm certainly not a parent, but I have some advice. Ask yourself, is there any reason that your parents wouldn't let you get one; like a reason why they wouldn't trust you? If not, bring that point up. Tell them that you would keep your myspace page set on private and that nobody besides people that you accept (and you would only accept friends) would be able to see your page. Also tell them that this is just like Instant Messanger, a way to keep in touch with your friends. My friend actually wrote an essay to persuade her parents to let her get a myspace and it worked! If your parents are smart enough to even know what MySpace is... give it up. There are all of the questions on answers about getting into myspace when at school.
They may just be trying to tell you that worrying about your social life now will mean NOTHING in the world later. Concentrate on your work and your life could be awesome....... spend your time playing (think PSP for the guys) and one day you will wake up and wonder why you do not have what others do. Money, career, a house, family? MySpace is a waste of mental space.
Your parents understand this.

You need to prove that you are responsible for yourself. Myspace can be pretty dangerous sometimes and you don't want to get yourself in the "bad" material and stuff like that. Also, you need to prove that you can be smart and cautious when communicating with others. When it comes to communication in Myspace, you can meet just about anybody. Good and bad people.

Try to get ur friend or osmething that has a myspace to tell your parents how it works, tell them youll put it on private and only ur friends would be able to see ur space and those who you have as a friend. Like on mine its as private and only those who are as my friends and add me can see my myspace. And tell them you wotn add the wrong people or put bad pictures.

My sons are on myspace.. all three.. You parents are worried..because you are a girl.. I agree with them..but .. Tell them they can monitor your site.. I was checking my 14 yr. old son's.. he's bored with it now because baseball has started and World of Warcraft has obsorbed his spare time. You really have to watch who your talking to on any site. They could claim to be someone who they're not.. My 12 yr. old could care less. Good luck..

well I'm not a parent but tell then your not going to be tellin stuff ur not supposed to like addresses and stuff and tell them u aren't going to meet anyone in person unless they meet them first Internet cant hurt anybody only if u meet them in real life right yell i hope this is good enough to convents your parents

I will set it on private and I will only accept friends I know and Ill ask you if the pic I want to put is appropriate and I promise I won't do anything wrong its just to keep me in contact with friends PLEASE!
