1. It is hard to say how your pain tolerance is but for me it hurt a lot but only for a minute. It makes your eyes water like when you pluck an eyebrow or something.
2. It goes away quickly, then it just throbs a little and may be a little sore and red.
3. I didnt have any problems after the piercing but make sure you keep it clean especially if you wear makeup, after you put it on put some cleanser on a qtip and clean right around it.
4. It stays tender for awhile, like with any piercing it will take time to heal but it shouldnt hurt hurt for long , if it does that usually signals an infection. the pain is not really pain anyway, it just stings if you accidentally hit it or something. I was notorious for hitting it with my sunglasses as i put them on and off, be careful about that because scar tissue is what that little bump or 'pimply thing' is and it happens when you irritate the area too much and it doesnt really go away so try to be careful.
Also mine got caught a lot when i was putting shirts and sweaters on and off, you just have to do everything more conciously so you dont pull it out (now THAT hurts)
Also i have tried all the types of jewelry, the L shaped one and the straight one come out all the time. The one with the ball on the bottom hurts to put in but rarely falls out and the corkscrew one is good because it doesnt come out but if it ever does it is the hardest to put back in. (well for me)
Good luck

1. How much does it hurt?
~It didn't hurt me at all. All I felt was a small pinch then it was over.
2. How long does the pain last?
~Gone right away for me.
3. Are there any things that should be expected after the piercing?
~Well, you'll have to be more careful when putting shirts on (if you have a stud), you'll have to be careful when blowing your nose
4. Does it hurt afterward?
~Nope, but then again we all deal with pain differently.
5. If yes, for how long?
6. Any advice before I get it done?
~Do some research before deciding on where to get pierced, make sure the place uses an autoclave, make sure you see them use a fresh needle, don't be afraid to ask questions and just be relaxed. Its a very easy piercing to get.

1. It hurts pretty badly; your eyes will naturally start tearing up when the needle goes through your nose. I thought that since I'm diabetic and I take 5 shots a day that my tolerance for pain would be pretty high, but that wasn't the case :).
2. For me, it hurt more the day after, it was a dull solid pain for a few days afetrward, but not unbearable.
3. Maybe expect a little dried blood on the inside of your nose; you may have a permanent little lump on the inside of the nostril that was pierced.
4. Yeah it hurts afterwards, but its a dull pain that will go away. Don't touch the piercing and sleep on the opposite side of your face or on your back.
5. Pain will decrease a little every day and after a week you should feel no pain.
6. Advice: GET IT PROFESSIONALLY DONE. In a reputable parlor. I had my step-brother pierce my nose in our basement with a piercing gun and it was extremely painful and I ended up taking it out a few weeks later because it got infected.

1. It hurts a lot. I have had MANY facial piercings, including my lips and tongue, and the nose hurts the worst of any of them.
2. It will throb and have a dull ache for about 2 days.
Other advice, it is SO easy to get it caught and pulled out in the beginning when you are not used to it. Taking off glasses, washing your face, rubbing your nose, pulling off shirts, etc. Be careful!
Also, I agree that the corkscrew type of ring works the best

First of all. don't listen to that comment. everyone's beautiful in their own way. i think the pain will last for like a couple days and that it doesn't hurt too much. if you want to get it periced before they periced your nose they give you a list of the risks and etc and if you got questions you can ask them directly from there. try claires

Don't do it. Piercings take away from ones natural beauty (male and female). They draw attention but it may not be the best attention. If you do it and change your mind your nose will be forever scarred. Its a fad that will pass. I don't know your age, however, most of the "cool" kids grew up to have lousy jobs. Most of the "plain" kids grew up to have beautiful homes, great husbands/wives, and rewarding/fun jobs. In the end, it is up to you.
