today i had a day off of school, so i decided to go back to bed for about an hour, and woke up absolutely drenched in sweat and had to change my clothes and it was really disgusting. is this normal? what caused it?

im generally a healthy person, with anxiety and a bit of hypochondria. i was having a bad dream about someone glueing my eyes shut (weird i know) if that has anything to do with it.

i was on amoxicilin if that had anything to do with it.
orthostatic hypotension.
and my blood sugar is usually around 70 which i think is normal.

normally im FREEZING cold, and always shaking, and use many covers, sleeping bag, 2 comforters, and a fuzzy blanket. and NEVER sweat, still cold. so i dont know why i woke up extremely hot and drenched.

Was it a vivid dream? That'll drench you every time. Dreams are weird, too - I mean, your brain is up to tricks without you being in control of it - who knows what goes on in addition to the dreams?

This happens to me sometimes - I wouldn't worry about it. Remember, if you've got a tendency toward hypochondria things can seem a lot scarier than they should. I am NOT judging (I've got OCD!) - I just know that sometimes it helps to recognize that maybe a fear you've got isn't rational, and it's okay to let it go.

Anyway, good luck!

My first question was going to be age? sex? Night sweats are a common condition of menopause, but it doesn't sound like that applies to you. The condition is not normal. Your doctor will probably order blood tests to help diagnose what is out of kilter. So go see him/her, and take a list of all the medications you use-OTC as well as prescription, what the dosage is and how often you take it. This will save a lot of time because they will ask you all this stuff anyway.

This is the same technique I have taught over 138,000 men and women in 157 countries to successfully treat their excessive sweating condition over the past 7 years!

Have you had a temperature? When it breaks, you sweat a lot.

Also, did you eat something with vitamins in it? Namely NIACIN?
Taking vitamins or eating a food like enriched cereal or bread that has niacin added can cause what is called a "niacin flush".
