No food should be eaten exclusively. A balanced diet is always the healthiest way to go.
That said, broccoli is a bit of a wonder food. It is one of the few vegetables to offer significant amounts of calcium and protein, along with all the great vitamins it has as a dark green vegetable. Peas and beans also have lots of protein.
When buying fruits and vegetables, look for dark yellow and orange (carrots and squash, for example), dark green (spinach, broccoli), purple (eggplant and blueberries) because they are all packed with nutrients and low in calories: each color offers a different range of vitamins. The more (naturally) colorful your plate is, the more vitamins you're consuming. As much as possible, eat vegetables raw or barely cooked, cooking bleaches out the nutrients.
The point is, eat a bit of everything. Not a lot of anything

Bran is one food that is very healthy. It's very high in fiber, which means you can eat less but feel very full for a long time, and less of it is absorbed by your body before coming out the other end.
Try a bran cereal that is low in sugar, like All Bran, each morning. It will keep the food moving through your system throughout the day (like a natural laxative) so the food you eat won't have as much time to be turned into fat deposits.
Basically any food or supplement (like FiberChoice tablets) that is high in fiber will be beneficial to weight loss and overall health. Most people get only a small fraction of the recommended amount of fiber each day. You may have some gas as your body adjusts, but that will pass. Just make sure you drink lots of water!

There is no one healthiest food. You must eat a variety to be healthy. But you can't go wrong with fruits, vegtables, whole grains and fresh water. :-)

can never go wrong with veggies and fruits...just be careful with fruits for they have sugar, and acidic ones can cause heartburn if ya have acid reflux. plenty of water i cant stress that enough! eggs, esp egg whites (the "bad" part which has the cholesterol is found in the yolk) are very good for you too. just keep in mind everything in moderation is the key!
