india does not need to strengthen and build trust with America. and Indian armed forces are fully capable of conducting any size war with any country an time. that was partly proved by the two air exercises that USA and India conducted and in both of those exercises, USA went home learning something from India not the other way around...that report is still on af.mil
the point i am trying to make is that usa needs india more then india needs usa. Obliviously usa is selling nuclear fuel and perhaps even some military equipment to india to counter balance it against china. India and china both have regional hegemonic intensions and usa holds the hegemony in asia. so i don't see a reason why india should go to iraq to help Americans. 15-20 years from now usa will be indias number one competition and even though that will be a friendly and non hostile competition...why help Americans if there is nothing in return for India? even countries like Spain ( a good ally of usa) have pulled out from the war in Iraq. so i think india is extremely good at doing what it does...which is to stay under the radar and be friends with everybody.
the prime reason for India to get the nuclear deal from usa is china yet at the same time india is talking with china to resolve the boarder issues. ofcource there will be no peace with china and india because india gains nothing from that....while on the other side....indian tension with china could and will provide lot of money, technology, and basically anything u can name it from the west. because west is scared of china and they see india as a wall between china and usa…which is true in theory and intentions but in reality india will make peace with china when the west stops paying india to be hostile against china. bottom line china has no chance…the asian regional hegemony will be held either by USA or by india which is why they are cautious of one another and hesitant to provide full fledged support for each others causes…either in Iraq or in Kashmir.

Practically the whole world turned it's back on the US regarding Iraq, why should India be any different?

India is not a country that normally fights other country's battles! It would be highly unusual foe it to join in to fight someone who is not their enemy.

Where are you getting these good relation fantasies, paricularly Iran. This is a country that has been a serious adversary of the US since 1979, how is it that you coorleate this with progress?

I doubt that India has any intention of being part of a coalition for any reason let alone to build trust with the US or other NATO powers.

While India have displomatic relations with the U.S,, it also have existing diplomatic relations with Iran. It is very clear that if India joins the Iraq War (obviously for the U.S. side), it will be risking its good relations with Iran. Surely, India will have a lot to lose and nothing to gain by joining the Iraq War. Furthermore, India's involvement in Iraq (a Muslim country) will surely inflame the ire of Pakistan (also a Muslim country). It will also lead to a high possibility that India will become another target for Islamic militants and and Al Qaeda terrorists operating in Afghanistan.

The government of Iran is evil.Good relations with them will only be temporary.Yes joining the war would help India's trust with the US.
