I truly believe there is an odor when a child of any age has a fever.

If this is a child you know or have, make sure they are eating enough and drinking enough water. If there is an acetone smell, the baby could have ketonuria, which is a high number of protein molecules in the urine, due to not getting enough calories. Water is needed to flush the ketones out of the urine.

Yes, there is and actually, we all get it. I'm not sure what causes it, and some people have a stronger "fever smell" than others, but it is there. It's weird!
