My daughter won't stop going to the bathroom in her bedroom. She is potty trained, but when she is mad she will go in her room and use the bathroom. Then she lets her 1 yr old brother play in it trying to get him in trouble. I am at my wits end. I feel like I have tried everything.

I'm assuming that she does this only when angry. One suggestion is to use reward/punishment. When she does this, ignore her. It is very important not to make a fuss because this can be a kind of reward. Having her clean it up herself, with you being very calm, is one suggestion. If she's not able to do this at all or you don't want her to, then you can ask her to take a time out while you clean it up, explaining to her that you need time undisturbed to do this. The time out should be something she won't enjoy. For example, sitting alone in a room without toys, her brother or the tv. So much for the "punishment" part.
The reward part is even more important. You might say to her "I know you're mad and I'd like it if you'd go and use the bathroom in the bathroom." When she does this, praise her, "Now you're acting like a big girl" and give her a reward, for example a gold star. When she gets enough stars she can trade for something she wants (play time with you, a cookie, etc.)
Also I would suggest that you give her some acceptible ways of expressing her anger.
Good luck.

My sister works with autistic kids and some of them go to the bathroom and then spread it all over walls or whatever. What the parents do to prevent the mess is to put a footed garment on them - backwards. Tape or tie around the zipper in the back. Then the mess stays inside their clothing. No fun for them - and they do eventually stop. I know this is extreme - but it's the only solution I know of.

Good luck.

Oh for heaven's sakes! some people actual could loosen up. they are infants! there's no could make a huge deal out of this, they have been in simple terms taking part in and clearly are not attentive to 'inner maximum areas' yet. the three twelve months previous is probably attending to the age once you are able to clarify that his penis is inner maximum and no one else could touch it, yet do not turn this right into a controversy while it quite is not. i don't see something incorrect with bathing 2 youthful infants at the same time despite gender they are. My brother and that i bathed at the same time till he replaced into approximately 7 and that i replaced into approximately 5 and the only element I keep in mind approximately it quite is making use of the back of the tub as a slide and as quickly as looking it hysterically humorous that he have been given into the tub without taking his vest off! Lol. so some distance as i'm conscious we under no circumstances did something irrelevant, as we have been used to a minimum of one yet another's bodies provided that we've been infants so they weren't a novelty. we at the instant are the two adults, the two married, and the two have first rate jobs, so I hardly think of that having baths at the same time as quickly as we've been infants warped us for existence!

Try taking away something that she really likes . I had a girlfriend whose daughter would do that. Sherry liked wearing pants with pockets in them. When she did that Liz would not let her wear her pocket pants. It took about 2 weeks for Sherry to realize her mother was serious and she quit. You are going to need a lot of patients, so hang in there. Good Luck

Ah, the wonderful 3 year old/parent power struggle. Have you tried putting her back in diapers/pull ups? I'm sure she thinks she is much too big for that. It may make her decide to take on a different topic, but the power struggle is on! God bless you.

Next time she gets mad, put her in time out in the BATHROOM. That way she can go in there and no brother aloud. Cut that behavior straight away! Good luck and with patience and firmness, you can do this.

She sounds like she is trying to have her "will" with you
by doing this, tell her big girls don't do that, don't lose it
and i know its hard , but don't show your frustrated ..
that will make it worse.! take away her favorite toy
when she behaves like that or something she really
likes..tell her when she will behave like a good girl she will
get it back..

I know every child is different , but being firm and not giving in ,
is what works .and the result will be good...
