My female went into heat for the first time, I never owned a female until now. Was wondering is there a way to keep her quiet as not to bug the neighbours? I just don't know what to do cause she meows all day long and through the night.

female cats will remain in heat UNTIL they mate-- which the mating process and the spines or barbs on the males penis (stimulates pain) and causes the female to ovulate -- once they ovulate the heat is over (and the only way to ovulate is to mate in cats).
however i do NOT suggest she mate-- instead- if you get her spayed it will eliminate the hormones.
** But i would definately ask the vet if they are 'comfortable' doing a spay when the cat is in heat as it can be more risky. Some vets at 'low cost" high volume spay clinics do them all day so they may say they are more comforatble doing it at this time. If not, you might have to wait it out.
wouldnt it be nice however if she could mate with a 'sterile' male and give you some releif in the meantime? :)

There is no way to quiet her down. As soon as you can, take her to the veterinarian and have her spayed. If she is not spayed (neutered) she will come into heat every few weeks until she is bred. You will constantly have to put up with her yowling. Please, do not allow her to be bred. There are already hundreds, if not thousands, of homeless, unwanted kittens and puppies.
Having her spayed will not only calm her down, it will also be much healthier for her in the long run.
I have had cats much of my life. For the past 30 years, I have had all of them neutered. They live longer, are healthier, are more loving, and do not try to constantly go outside (my cats are always strictly house cats).
Contrary to an old wives tale, it is NOT better to allow her to have a litter first. It would have been better to have her spayed before she came into heat, but now do it as soon as possible.

Keep her INDOORS AT ALL TIMES!! this will last for about a week and then after that GET HER SPAYED... dont add to the pet population! There is nothing you can do to keep her quiet unless the vet will spay her while she's in heat... call to your local shelters they usually do discounted spays and neuters!!!

There is absolutely nothing you can do. Unless you get her fixed, or you go and get her pregnant. I have 5 female cats and 2 males. I have a lot of experience. Usually, they will quiet down.

good luck this is what happens to female cats every two months or so and you will have many cats to visit
get it fixed right now ,or get earplugs and prepare for lots of kittens ,
male cats are more quiet but they urinate everywhere to mark their scent .new shoes and pillows are favorit spots

This is very normal,,,,,,best you can do is keep your female inside and she will be hard to control,,,,,,,meows,,,,,alot,,,,,,,yet ignore it and if you do not want any kittens I suggest getting her spade,,,,,,This is the only thing that will make her be quite, she is only being a normal cat,,,, Remember Patience!!

Get her fixed. Makes them be quiet and protects them from certain cancers. There isn't really anything to do to make her be quiet besides that.

Call your vet and ask when they can fix her. This will solve the meowing.
